DLR leaving Van Halen was the 2nd to worst thing to happen to rock music in the 80's. Sammy Hagar taking his place and continuing on as VH was the absolute worst thing.

Like this football season ending when the Jets kicker fucked up two times against Pittsburgh a few weeks ago, Van Halen was over when DLR left. Van Hagar sucks. Van Cherone sucks even more. Have you even seen the VH brothers lately? They're going on next year's dead pool.

If you like a bit of German industrial rock, nobody's doing it better than Hanzel Und Gretyl with their 'Scheissmessiah' album from 2004. It really, truly does not get any better than this. I think Worm might like this too, for some reason. But seriously, I'd love for you to hear these.

I loved that shit, was just a couple years too young for concerts in the mid-late 80s. I started hitting the arenas in the 90s and all the associated rock clubs for smaller acts after that. Never went to any reunion/nostalgia tours, tho. Want to hit up the Priest tour this year, that'll do it for me as far as 80s bands go.

That's part of what makes it Ramones-ish in my mind, though it certainly lacks the DIY feel.

I had heard it on the 5:30am drive to work one day last summer, downloaded it that night. It also gets played on the alternative station on the satellite dish music channels. It's part of my gettin' drunk playlist.

Actually I downloaded Kreator's latest release - "Enemy of God" a couple of weeks ago. Pretty good - heavy stuff with lots of low end. Kreator is one band that I've always liked - but never was really really into. They get props for sticking around when it seemed that thrash metal was nearing extinction. I also have some of their older stuff from their "Endless Pain" days, some live stuff too. I though "Endorama" was pretty good too - even if it's a bit mellower than their earlier stuff.

First of all, they've had a grand total of three proper studio albums. Hardly enough of a sample size to distinguish such a trend, even if you were that bright. But are you seriously saying that Lateralus sounds like Aenema sounds like Undertow?
