Sure. As soon as the cookies RetroRomper said he was making arrive, we'll get some MEALS.

You know what? I am not letting REtro off the goddamn hook here. Retro you are going to be hounded about this for the rest of your goddamn life!

Put me down for one MEAL and one video.

by The Happiness Engine » Sun Jan 06, 2013 12:00 pm

Do I smell a KICKSTARTER?

In all seriousness, I would be in for this, with the caveat that we get a maximum number of videos of people operating and eating their MEALs.

Don't be humble. The rest of us around here haven't done shit or shown half the discipline you did in protecting us and securing our freedoms.

On a few baseball websites I see people "break" sets. One guy gets all the Blue Jay cards, one guy gets all the Astros. We should "break" a box of MREs. One guy gets 1 MRE, one guy gets 1 MRE and so forth.

I have done none of these things, unless you count eating MEALs and sharing my impressions. I will pass your kind sentiments on to the more deserving!

Thank you for your service to your country and protecting our freedoms.

Let's get back on topic here, is anyone feverishly designing their dream MEAL a la carte? No? Here's what I would pick:

Entree- Chili Macaroni This is delicious. Even better when you have the tiny tabasco bottle to dump in it.

Side Dish- Santa Fe Style Rice This looks to beat out the old standby of Mexican Style rice by having the cheese already inside it.

Dessert- Lemon Poppyseed Cake The pound cakes are always good.

Optional- MRE Crackers

Now what you do is heat this up, mix everything but the pound cake together and enjoy your MEAL.

Here's what you do NOT do under ANY circumstances: consume the 'Wheat Snack Bread'.

phpBB3. The web forum so magnificent it can't import data from phpBB2 nor use its templates.

I don't trust those two letter code ones, there's one called 'bit.ly' which means it's in the Libya country domain, if there's ever a problem and Libya gets re-declared an evil country, your ownership of a link becomes useless because you can't spend money in a country declared by the U.S. Government to be evil like North Korea or Cuba unless you get State Department permission in advance, so your links now become worthless.
Good point, I hadn't thought of that.

/backs away REAAAAL slowly, feeling for the doorknob blindly

Then why the fuck is he bitching about not being able to give the whole URL as a clickable link? We're not a bunch of women, we're men, and when men have problems, we don't bitch and carp and moan about them, we solve them. A woman gets home at the end of the day and complains her feet hurt. She doesn't want to solve the problem, she just wants to bitch about it, otherwise she'd go to comfortable shoes.
2. tinyurl is the Lycos of URL shorteners. Sure, some people might still remember it, but everyone's moved on!
And, pray tell, what have they moved on to? Make a shorter link? :). I don't trust those two letter code ones, there's one called 'bit.ly' which means it's in the Libya country domain, if there's ever a problem and Libya gets re-declared an evil country, your ownership of a link becomes useless because you can't spend money in a country declared by the U.S. Government to be evil like North Korea or Cuba unless you get State Department permission in advance, so your links now become worthless.

phpBB can NOT handle this link, because the people who made it are horrible people who deserve to die:

This is where TinyURL.Com is your friend:
TinyURL.com wrote: The following URL:

has a length of 90 characters and resulted in the following TinyURL which has a length of 26 characters:

Or, give your recipients confidence with a preview TinyURL:

Yeah, I know it's missing the end ); apparently the site doesn't mind.

The repack MEALs are going to be the things no one wants to buy separately, but you can fake the experience by ordering an entree, side and dessert that seems the most appealing.

For extra fun and a chance to burn your self/house, get a heater. Otherwise they heat fine in some hot water or a microwave.
Well, I'm sorry to hear that you had to eat these things all the time. Were you in the military, or did you have really strict parents?
They don't really taste bad. If you're willing to eat a frozen meal, chinese buffet, or chili from a can it's about the same.

As part of my descent into a truly loathsome individual I realized why bother going to the store when you could just keep a case or 2 of these in the house. There's always food, it never goes bad, and you never have to talk to single human being! (please kill me)

On the bright side, I am almost finished with the 25lb sack of dried potatoes I ordered so long ago I can't even remember. ProTip: 16 gallons of dehydrated potato will reconstitute to around 50 gallons of real potato! Hope you like mashed potatoes, FOREVER.

I thought that when it was 2013 I'd have more motivation to eat better. New year and everything. Instead, I feel exactly like I did yesterday.

Nobody will just sell ya one meal on the Internet. It's always 12 for $65 or something.

as someone who has eaten many a MEAL I can wholeheartedly recommend them for camping, car-breakdowns, and anytime you want hot food with zero effort. The best MEALs are these: http://www.armygear.net/ag/store/00231.html?id=vccsqnfi but they tend to come and go as inventory falls off trucks and is sold.

eat the box lunches!

by Ice Cream Jonsey » Mon Dec 31, 2012 11:33 pm

You can't have one, they have beef in them.

by pinback » Mon Dec 31, 2012 10:06 pm

I would like a MEAL in the new year.

by Ice Cream Jonsey » Mon Dec 31, 2012 6:44 pm

2013 seems like a good time to order a MEAL.

by Ice Cream Jonsey » Tue Jun 15, 2010 9:13 pm

Whenver I get money again, I'm pulling the trigger on a MEAL.

Will you enjoy one with me? HEY PINBACK PUT KAT ON THE LINE. Tell her I want to know if we can all get together one night and simultaneously eat a MEAL.
