Ranch Chicken Sandwich

Post by pinback »

What is it that's so magic about the Ranch Chicken Sandwich? Science may never know. But you know that you crave it at least once a week, and are probably drooling over the prospect right now!

Is it the delicious crunch into the fried chicken breast? The herbal, savory tang of the ranch dressing? The... combination of both of them?

I don't know, but it must be something, because whether you want to admit it or not, it's your favorite sandwich!

Join me on an adventure, as I attempt to create a homemade Ranch Chicken Sandwich!

I have these ingredients on hand:

1. A chicken bress!
2. Flour!
3. A egg!
3.5 A milk!
4. Salt & pepper!
5. A bun!
6. A lettuce!
7. A tomato!
8. Inch of oil!
9. RANCH

Here's my plan for tomorrow's lunch:

1. Trim/pound out that bress! (lol!)
2. Mix a egg and a milk together!
3. Put inch of oil in pan, heat up!
4. Mix flour/salt/pepper!
5. Dip bress in flour mix!
6. Dip bress in egg/milk mix!
7. Dip bress BACK in flour mix!
8. Put bress in inch of oil!
9. Fry for 8 minutes per side or thereabouts!
10. Put bress, lettuce, tomato, and RANCH on the bun!

Whaddya think? Is this gonna work? Is this too crazy to even attempt? Who will die first, Robb on his motorcycle or me creating this sandwich?

Give me a juicy WaWa roast beef sandwich any time over anything else, it's almost ambrosia. They may be a gas station but they make damn good sandwiches.

But what you're talking about is explained by the German word "gestalt," where the organized whole is worth more than the sum of its parts.

Enemy of Eggs

Could this recipe be pulled off with marginal success if one were to omit the eggs?

No, I'm not. I just bought two sandwiches there yesterday. Once a month, I have to go out to the credit union to get checks issued for the three bills I have to pay (I can't get a <s>checking</s> share draft account because of old issues, I only have a <s>savings</s> draft account so I have to go there in person).

I take the 86 bus to Sunnyside Ave.* before it leaves Baltimore Ave. onto Rhode Island Ave., where the 89 or 89M bus turns right from Sunnyside Road onto Baltimore Ave. But the 89/89M doesn't stop there, it stops about a block or two further up the road at a stop which is only for the 89/89M and the 86 does not stop at that stop. So I get off and I <s>walk</s> roll up the street about the eqivalent of about 2 blocks.

*I was guessing when I wrote this, I then went and dowloaded the pdf for the 89 schedule from WMATA and sure enough, the 89 turns on Sunnyside. (I had Sunnyside Road, it's Sunnyside Ave., actually.)

My Statement

Post by Tdarcos »

(Continued from Message 2)

In between the two non-connecting bus stops is the WaWa where I go to get a delicious sandwich, and eat it while waiting for the bus; there's about a 1/2 hour wait between when the 86 arrives at the first stop and the 89/89M does at the second stop, so it gives me enough time to go in, order a sandwich - or two - and catch the 89, even eating a bit of the sandwich while waiting for the bus.

Of all the times I threw away a receipt I if I had known it would be important I could have scanned it and put it up here. I'm tempted to go out there today and buy another sandwich to have the "excuse" that I need the receipt to prove that WaWa is still around and still sells sandwiches.

I still have half of a WaWa chicken cheesesteak. Don't know if theirs are as good as the ones from Jerry's Subs and Pizza but they're very good.

I got my statement on-line

I went online and had my credit card company's website run an on-demand statement, which is for last month, but it does prove what I said.

It just hit me this second from looking at the statement that I not only got charged the $6.69 for the game - I put in $6.66, but there is a round up when converting to GBP - I was also charged 13c for the currency conversion! (Kotaro is a British company and the billing is done in GBP.) That correctly computes to a 2% currency conversion fee, which is standard.

I also note with humor how they want to encourage you to go paperless, while at the same time it warns you that this is only an informational statement and you should only rely on the paper statement!

Can we get this moved to the games forum now that Paul has turned the thread into a Choose Your Own Adventure novel?

I was THIS CLOSE to being inspired by Pinback's quest to perfect his Ranch Chicken Sandwich to share my own escapades in formulating the perfect pat-thai recipe but then... Along came Paul.
