About Breaking Bad being filmed in New Mexico

It kind of just occurred to me that the reason Breaking Bad takes place in New Mexico is because of the credit that motion picture - which includes television - production gets for making shows there. Well, perhaps I should qualify it as probably since I can't guarantee it is the main reason.

Given the high cost to operate in California, and the fact New Mexico is a lot closer than Canada or Mexico, the production credit has encouraged a number of productions to be done there.

I think the credit is 50% of something, probably of taxes that are paid. Plus costs in New Mexico would be less, it's probably not a bad idea. There's already at least one full service studio in Albuquerque.

Cryptozookeeper was also photographed in New Mexico, because it was cheap and easy for me to get there.

I didn't get any credits from anyone, however.
