Apocalypse Now (****)

I guess I am on the four star rating. Apocalypse Now is definitely a four star movie. I can't believe there was no computer graphics in this. I mean, I am just stunned. How did they make this? How did they make ANY of this??

My only complaints: OK, Kurtz set himself up as a warlord, and I guess he was sort of rotten to people? But he really didn't do anything all that bad? Maybe that is not the point.

The ending was fine, but yeah, it just "ends." I can't think of what I would have after. And Sheen bringing the surfer out answered the questions I had at the end, which was whether or not Sheen was gonna do that.

A brilliant film. Not sure if I would feel the need to watch it again soon (though I'll watch the redux version at some point) so while I recognize that it is an AMAZING movie, perhaps it is not one of my "favorite" movies??
