Iron Man

Loved it. Unfortunately, I know what happens in all these initial comic movies because I am a fucking nerdling. However! In the comic Obidiah Stane -- the Iron Monger - disintegrates his own head with a repulsor blast, after he realizes that Tony defeated him. It was an amazingly effective comic book scene. I don't.... think? Stane dies at the end of Iron Man? So basically:

- In every other comic book movie, the villain dies, and it's weak. Even though in the comics, he makes a thousand other comics.

- In Iron Man, Stane does not die (I think?), though it was a great moment in the comic when he did.

(My brother got me Iron Man 195-200 when we were teenagers as a birthday present, where all that went down. He is the best brother ever.)

Three and a half stars - Downey is outstanding in this movie, and usually he annoys the piss out of me. Right out of my body: piss.

Good luck doing the next one, where he is gonna have to fight an elderly Chinese despot who has ten magic rings and wears a dress.
