The explanation better have something to do with this being the only means to "sink six in the pink" (as our dear departed friend Pinback would have said) with some chick.

If it's Extol or Living Sacrifice, it'll probably be a good show. Can't vouch for anyone else. Tonight, we are going to:

In Flames (forerunners of the Swedish Melodeath scene)
Killswitch Engage (US high energy metalcore, not bad)
As I Lay Dying (San Diego melodeath/hardcore band)
and another opener or 2 probably.

I fear that In Flames, now that they've released 3 sudstandard albums, will suck live also. Back in 2k and 2k1 they put on some of the best shows you would've ever seen. People that didn't like the band would go, and their 2 live albums, Live in Gothenburg (unreleased but better) and The Tokyo Showdown (official release) are brilliant examples of what a decent to good band can accomplish when they know how to work a stage. 2k2 was the last time I saw them, and they looked and acted about as tired as their material was. I really don't want to see any more heroes fall :(

Sorry, Haven't had the gumption to get back to this thread in a while.

OK. It wasn't any known band. It was my kid's friend's band and they were playing in a concert hall in a church. Nobody was over 18. Band members or audience. They had a nice repit-waar (French for 'bunch of songs') I don't really get into the 'Jesus loves me' stuff, but they sounded pretty good. My kid even bought a t-shirt and a CD (with my money, no doubt)

Actually had a more acoustic pop sound than death (and rebirth) metal. You wouldn't know it to look at them. Spiked hair and weird clothes. I guess face paint was a no-no.

Something about metal Jesus music that gets teenage Looootheran girls all hot and bothered. I felt like a dirty old man, really. Wow.. if the girls looked that good when I was 18 I would have NEVER had my pants up. Gives a new meaning to 'give it up for (because of) Jesus.

Anyway, it's not something I would go to again. I only went because my kid is a friend of the drummer. He can't drive past 9 unless I'm in the car. So I was kinda stuck there.

Aardvark - POD is playing somewhere in Rochester sometime on Memorial Day weekend (my friend can't make it - so that means I'm not going). They're actually a pretty good band - but the last time they came to town at the WSMH - the turnout was pretty lame with mainly bible-thumping kids.

Thats good, but....I DON'T like religion based rock/metal.

The whole thing seems (to me) to be a contadiction in terms.

Maybe I'll explain after I settle my nerves with a couple cold ones.
