I really don't know what to type. I'm going to get some iced tea and let this all settle in. So it began with the demo. Wait, that is not right. It began with those foxes hanging the S.P.E.C.I.A.L system infront of my nose prerelease. That had me sold ... horribly fucking sold, body, mind, and soul. I giddly downloaded the demo but was worried because it didn't show any of the use of presuasion or other skills that made the S.P.E.C.I.A.L system fun. I was worried. It didn't matter. They already had me.
I was informed of release via Caltrops and well, they stopped me from worrying. You can't blame them. It seems good at first. I haven't finished it ... I can't finish it. What is the point of presuasion in Diablo? My character simply can't get past certain areas. Maybe I need to level up. Maybe I need a life. This game right now has broken my faith and left a sour taste in my mouth. They blatantly lie by including Charisma and Presuasion skills ... all I need is combat it seems. I'm not paying for this I am taking it back. What the fuck will I get though? I really think I need to leave corporate games alone forever.
I'm just being betrayed and beguiled by advertising at every fucking turn. I don't care if it had too many Star Trek references, I don't care if it was boring, the game was just good ... I want another Fallout.
More updates to come.

Update: It is painfully obvious this game was intended to be a hack and slash that they added the S.P.E.C.I.A.L system to simply so more people would buy it. Furthermore the game was so rushed that the game requires no CD to run and the installation consists of a 1.47 GB data.dat file being put on your computer.

Senor Barborito seemed to really like it on Caltrops. I didn't read all of his posts yet, as he stated that there were spoilers in the text, but yeah.. what the fuck is up with there being cultural references? I take it from your post, Worm, that they are Star Trek references? What the fuck? Did Barbie end up changing his mind? I am still of the mindset where I don't want the game spoiled for me yets, you need to be my proxy here, Worm.
Don't get me wrong. I can appreciate how difficult it is to be funny in a world where half of the crap we talk about hasn't happened yet, but Jesus. Why is the writing on 95% of all games shit? Why is Imoen saying "Geez!" in a Baldur's Gate game? People were funny in the 14th Century, it's not like they had to wait for 'Millipede' to be invented before the 'punchline.' (It just, on this BBS, seems that way.)

The third paragraph in the first post was about Fallout.
Basically, you have to join a faction. You join the faction and you end up on the same set of quests effectively. All which involve recovering items surrounded by loads of monsters. You can't run from melee attacks. No reason to be a mage, diplomat, thief, or anything that won't get billions of hitpoints. No *REAL* party that advances with you. Your character must be self suficient. I ran into a brick wall as a mage where I had to return to town after clearing out sections of a map to pick up loads of healing potions. So I'm going to take back that game and still play it to get sucessful fodder against it.

Fallout the game? Fallout the reason behind the town-sized crater that appeared where I used to live in California in the aftermath of the different warring factions fighting about who should be taking credit for it?
Being the asshole that I am, I used to enjoy watching certain people hide their fury whenever I happened to 'acidentally' mention it.
