Reacher (Amazon, 2023 or something)

Post by Ice Cream Jonsey »

I started season one of Reacher or Jack Reacher or whatever it is called on Amazon. Jack Reacher is like if the Hulk was autistic. It's fine. The character is fine for popcorn TV, which is what I wanted, because I decided that I was only going to watch the show when I was walking on my treadmill. I did it. And for the last half of the month of March, every frame of the thing was viewed by your friendly neighborhood sysop, walking. Aces!

Reacher is the biggest goddamn Mary Sue character I've ever seen. He's too perfect and it makes the show something that nobody can really take seriously. He beats everyone up, he is Sherlock Holmes when it comes to murder investigations, nobody ever takes him down a peg. My understanding is that the books are like that and I suppose they appeal to millions more people than anything I have ever done, so give them credit there.

It was a fine show to exercise to. Thank you, Jack Reacher.

Amazon the company is desperate and horrible for peppering in ADS for the thing though. I will now use them to get my groceries.

If you want a decent Movie --> Stream show try Shooter. Shooter the movie with Marky Mark was abismal, literally everything in the movie was made pointless and stupid by the final scene. The show, though was lotsa good fun. The wife and I even had a fun drinking game for it. The character is named Bob Lee Swagger and the characters either called him Bob Lee or Swagger. Drink on Swagger.

Season 1 of Reacher was a bit over the top. I rather enjoyed it for all the reasons you mentioned... it was so ridiculous it was funny.

Season 2 was not QUITE as nutty... but still a bit beyond believable. And the story line wasnt nearly as good.

And the AUTISM. Everyone in the show is in love with their goddamn opinions.

It was fine, I would watch more of it. I swear in season three they are just going to start shooting JACK in the face with a machine gun and it will ricochet off his teeth.

I do like the actor.

Hahahahaha

Gold.

To me this show is kinda of like watching WWE. You know it's fucking stupid but it's a fun sort of stupid so you watch it. So far I've only seen the first season.

I watched it. I thought the local police in that small town were just a little too fast in finding Reacher, and presuming he was the killer. Even in a small town, there'd need to be an investigation, then locate where he is, and go after him, and can do all this before he can finish - or even start - eating his pie. The cops can be so goddamn "supercompetent" in finding him, but on all the other issues, they were abysmal.

Possible spoiler for season 2 - bypass if you don't want to know.

In season 2, did anyone notice Reacher and his friends essentially went on a killing spree? They were leaving behind more dead bodies than some wars.
Given the general rise in expenses and fall in the typical standard of living, the future ain't what it used to be.

Haha I completely agree with your assessment of the first season dude! I still need to start the 2nd and without spoilers you got me interested, bro.

If you’re a fan of the Jack Reacher series, buying books in bulk is a smart move. Not only can it be more cost-effective, but having the entire collection at hand allows for an uninterrupted reading experience. Plus, there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing all those books lined up on your shelf, ready for you to dive into Reacher’s adventures.

The character of Jack Reacher, with his exceptional abilities, certainly makes for an interesting watch, even if it stretches believability for some. It’s a testament to the show’s appeal that it could engage you throughout your exercise routine. On the other hand, the ads seem to have been a bit of a nuisance. It’s understandable that the commercial aspects can be off-putting, but it’s good to hear that it hasn’t deterred you from using Amazon’s services altogether. Your feedback reflects a common sentiment among viewers who seek a balance between content enjoyment and advertising tolerance.
