It's a beautiful thing, isn't it? All their stars are in perfect alignment right now. Their pitching, with the exception of Halladay, Lidle and Escobar (so far), continues to be suspect, as everyone knew it would. But it doesn't even matter because offensively, just about everyone is playing up to their potential.

However, I am cautiously optimistic. There are still 88 or so games left.

True. Still, I'm enjoying the hell out of the season.

Was Gord Ash running things in 1995? I can't believe that Halladay was an Ash pick, but I don't remember when Gillick exactly left. I think it was after the 94 season, because the first thing he did was sign Alomar... but I can't quite place it.

Yes. You know this. In the Top Ten Most Humilating Moments at EB article that I was working on, that you have read, it details that I skipped out on the N64 launch to watch Hentgen win his 20th.

I can't remember how many games I have caught at the Skydome -- over a dozen trips, anyway -- so I will say that I have been there "countless" times.

I am not quite sure what your angle is here, but it won't work. You need to get up so early in the morning to get over on me that by the time I wake up and am prepped for interaction with other humans, you've become so tired that you need a nap.

No "angle" here. I'm just happy to see that, at least with some sports, you root for a team in a city that you've actually stepped foot in once or twice.

You really are a complete fucking asshole, you know that?

The entire BBS had ORANGE TEXT for a day in celebration of the fact that the Syracuse Orangemen won the NCAA Tourney, a city where I spent the better part of two years. But don't let making a bad point badly get in the way of the overall shittiness of your miserable, trolling posts.

Please.

Christ, you don't even follow sports, Parrish. Get off me, or I'll cut you.

I would just like to clarify that this IS the kind of BBS where the SysOp will threaten you with a blade from 1,000 miles away.

I would like to encourage all JC denizens to solve their disputes with one another using implied or outright threats of knife, switchblade, machete and/or samurai sword attacks.

And hey, why doesn't the entire BBS have BLUE TEXT because the RIce Owls won the College World Series? I graduated from Rice, GODDAMN IT, I WANT SOME FUCKING BLUE TEXT. IS THAT SO FUCKING MUCH TO ASK?

For the record... I am a Yankees fan, but I am enjoying the HELL out of the season that Vernon Wells and Carlos Delgado are having. I traded Bartolo Colon (and his arm thats about to fall off) for Wells, which has single-handedly propelled me into first place in my fantasy baseball league.

Jim Rome put it best last night...
"Someone tell Carlos Delgado that 100 RBIs is a good season. There's no reason he has to hit that number by the All-Star break."

The guy is having a monster season.

(For the record... Delgado has 2 more dingers tonight, and Wells 1 more. I dominate my fantasy league. Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!)

It does suck that they are struggling against the Tigers, though.

I always liked Delgado. What I would like to know is why, apparently, everyone knew that he'd regain his 2000 form this year. I was interested him in trading for him in my text adventure league just because he's my favorite player, and apparently a website that does player projections had him up pretty high... not sure why, but power to 'em. They nailed it.

The really odd thing is that anyone could have had Delgado in the off season if they wanted to pay his contract. I heard that our GM would have loved to have traded him, as he is operating on a budget. I really hope we can keep him for a few more years -- not just because I dig him, but it'd be nice to not have to rely on Josh Phelps taking over first just yet and having to produce similar numbers just to keep pace. Phelps is sort of like gravy right now, and not the lumpy kind that your aunt makes, badly, at Thanksgiving, but rather the smooth stuff that people in clips for The Man Show chug down.
