Music!

Post by gsdgsd »

Thanks to the magic of SoulSeek, I've been hearing new music like a motherfucker lately. Just like a little beer only makes you want more beer, a little music only makes me want more new stuff. So. What's everyone listening to these days?

I'll even start:
Jay Farrar
Slobberbone's covers of "Champagne Supernova" and "Come On Baby Let's Go Downtown"
Entombed
Alabama Thunder Pussy
Clutch
Jesuseater
Woven Hand

And much much more! Now-- spill.

Elbow - Kisses
NIN - La Mer
Eskaflowne - Sad Strange Cello
DDR music
Children of Dune soundtrack
The doors - the end
America - the last unicorn

What can I say, I am strange. I had that NIN song in my head and had to search all my cds to find out what the hell I was singing. Now that I've over played it, I want it to die.

Oh, don't get me wrong, you're still a goofball, but unlike Jonsey you've never (A) creeped my friends out or (B) wished that I would get viciously beaten by tramps and thieves. So you're a notch above that pathetic man.

Plus, cancer. Don't forget that, please. I expressed rather clearly a desire for you to begin growing cancerous cells as quickly and effeciently as possible.

Also: What "creepy"? Hahahaha!

Fuck that -- what, "friends"?

Are any of us still listening to what we used to listen to?

No. I don't have satellite radio, and even before he went there, the show became little more than a nonstop parade of whores and Howard's Hollywood buddies, sucking the show dry of everything that once made it great.

Yes.
Historic Pinback wrote: The McDonald/Douglas Show
No. The show broke up shortly after I discovered it. Joe McDonnell got a new show on a different station, and it was then that I discovered he's actually a really, REALLY dumb, obnoxious guy, with an unlistenable show. I apologize for ever having this on the list.

I listen to old clips. Circa 2005, he quit doing his regular show, and started a new one, in which he still does voices, but in the service of political commentary. Very sad. Very very sad. I will never forgive him for this. Never!

Uncle Neil retired on June 22, 2009. This is the day entertainment talk radio officially died.

Let me put it another way:

The Jim Rome show is officially the best show still on the radio. I cannot tell you how sad this fact makes me.
When you need my help because I'm ruining everything, don't look at me.

NPR, although the news is rather sad.

They always throw in these whacked out human interest stories with field recorded interviews that sound like grandma's kitchen somewhere in Idaho, or the factory floor as they nail together clocks made from beer cans or something for the starving chillun is Paki-Zhak-Stan or someplace....

I wonder if they'll ever make it to Letterman?

I thought the Bonnie Tyler explanation video was good, but that.....
