Come on, now, Jonsey! It's a fresh new week, full of promise and potential! That's no way to get off to a positive start. How about instead of being a Gloomy Gus, try being a Happy Herbert! Well, that wasn't really that good a name, but there's a long week ahead to try to come up with better names! So much to look forward to, I don't see why you're not just aquiver with anticipation of the good things ahead!Ice Cream Jonsey wrote:I have a feeling that this week is going to totally suck.
I am sorry, but I don't remember the timetable you're talking about. I'll go check my emails again, though, and I'll be sure to get back to you!By the way, have you given any thought to the timetable I mentioned in that e-mail that I sent you? Let's not lose focus here, pinback.

Oh, but I've always been "pinback", lower-case, since way back at the beginning! Heavens, the last time I capitalized "Pinback" (other than on Monto Rusa, I now remember -- ooops!) was way back when I was calling myself "Sgt. Pinback", and, gosh, that was like the mid-80's!Ice Cream Jonsey wrote:Also, shouldn't it be "Pinback." Would you prefer that I give you a capital letter, or do you want to continue in this e.e. cummings horseshit?
Thanks for the offer, anyway! It's nice to know that you are willing to make those kinds of changes and respond to user requests that promptly.
See, it's already a good week, and we're just getting started!

A better question is, what's not to be chipper about? The sun is shining (at least where I am), it's a beautiful day, delicious food is plentiful, we have our health, the world keeps turning, a wide variety of music is available for our listening enjoyment, and we have friends and family who we love to keep us company!Protagonist X wrote:Why so chipper today, Mr. Parrish?
Again, I ask you... what is NOT to be chipper about?!

Hi! I just found out that due to an oversight, loans that my parents took out for my second and third semester at Syracuse were on deferment for 10 years! Yippee! And because my parents are broke, I get the joy of paying these loans off that I had no idea existed until a half hour ago! Right on! An extra $88.60 for ten years! Nothing like paying for school loans until one is 39 fucking years old! Hee hee! Yase! Boy, was college worth it! Combined with my previous loans, that's a nice $258 payment that I'll be sending off for the near future, now! Today really is a glorious and special day, comrade "pinback!"
(Actually, I couldn't care less about paying off the loans that I ... well, that my folks took out. I mean, what's fair is far. I am just pissed as ALL MOTHERFUCKING HELL that I didn't find out about this one until right fucking now and that it sprung up on me. Jesus Fucking Christ.)

I'll bet you're sure glad you know about it now, as opposed to not finding out about it for ten MORE years! So, really, as far as I can tell, you're ahead of the game today! And you'll feel better finally getting those payments taken care of and off your back, right?Ice Cream Jonsey wrote:Today really is a glorious and special day, comrade "pinback!"
See, I KNEW this was going to be a great week!! For everyone!

I don't think so. The total for the loans is $8,228.32. They want $88.60 for ten years, so that's about $600 in interest. That seems kind of reasonable, actually. Actually, that seems impossibly so. Either it accrued $600 over ten years, which is low, or it's going to accrue $600 in ten years. $60 a year -- what kind of rate is that? That seems extremely low. So I'm probably fucked here.Protagonist X wrote:Wait... deferment for TEN YEARS? They haven't been accruing interest all that time, have they?

I'm pretty sure this sort of loan is something where there's no penalty or fudging of that sort for early payment. S oif you come into enough money to pay it off, you can just write the check and have done with it, or pay them $172.00 a month for five years or something.
However you want to swing it, really. I'd recommend getting all the details from the loan people before making any decisions on how, or what schedule.

Good evening, everyone! I hope today has been has joyful and productive for you as it has been for me! And with the cool evening breeze wafting through the open windows, the cat purring contentedly on the bed, the smell from a delightful tofu stir-fry still lingering in the air... yes, I'd say this is quite a lovely day indeed!
Oh, and before I forget...
Have a happy Tuesday, too!

Yeah, look, the weather out here is too fucking surreal to be believed as well right now (we are FREE from the ridiculous, opressive heat that has surrounded us like a German death squad the last couple of years) but let me be the first to say that I don't like this new Ben.
OK, so you seem to be happy and more or less content. These are traits and emotions that I would like you to experience once this century. But not like this! It's a fake euphoria! Without our pain, without our sarcasm, without our hate and our rage... what are we? We're not men -- that's for fuck-sure. Look at yourself! You've become some sort of gelded, transgender Care Bear! What the shit?!!?!
