The box score only said he got time for roughing. Did he drop the gloves?

Wow, 2 RobB responses in one night! WHAT have I done to deserve this??
(His helmet got knocked off and they were wailing on each other pretty good - gloves stayed on though as far as I remember. Both guys got 2min roughing. You mean to tell me you're NOT WATCHING THIS??!)

ELIMINATED.
And I can't even blame it on Mark Recchi.

The guys you were missing from that game... there is no shame there. None at all.
Another crushing blow for the city of Buffalo, however. Goddamn.

Buffalo making it to the seventh game of the Eastern Conference finals with, effectively, an AHL-level defense is one of the more impressive things I've seen lately.
Heartbreaking game. I feel for you guys.

On the Post-Pessimist Association, kindly provided by
Greg, there are some links to a Buffalo blogger who expressed his disappointment about the loss. And then links to people telling that guy he's a crybaby.
I'd SNAP in the Buffalo guy's shoes. Not about the Flyers, because they are sort of entering "Wake me when there is a regime change" territory. Quick Regime Territory listings for the history of ICJ sports:
Toronto Blue Jays: 11/8/99 - 12/6/2005. Started with the trade of Shawn Green, because hey... the Dodgers wanted him! OK, L.A.! They wanted him, so they were going to get him. Not only did the end of the Gord Ash years suck, but J.P. Riccardi made some bad decisions like not signing or offering arbitration to Delgado (so we got nothing for him). Of course, it's amazing how much better he's become as a GM once Ted Rogers gave him a somewhat competitive payrolll. The last three WS winners play in Chicago, Boston and L.A. I want to run a sister site to Baseball Prospectus where the only tool for analysis is a lone HTML frame with updated team payrolls.
Philadelphia Flyers: May 2004 - present. Right after they lost to TB in a game 7 conference final until now. What's the point. Clarke is just good enough as a GM to break your heart each year. I don't even know what I would do to improve that team. I am not from Philadelphia, I do not follow other Philadelphia teams and I actively dislike the average Eagles and Phillies fan. The thing is, Bobby Clarke is one of my favorite old-time players, I mean, he wound up on Valery Kharlamov like he was trying to set a new long drive record at Augusta.
New Orleans Saints: End of the Ditka era. Just a hopeless time.

Normally I'd go rip him a new asshole. But I'm over it, and hearing reports of guys in Carolina jerseys getting the shit beat out of em after the game really seals the deal for me.
I mean, what the fuck? I'd expect that out of people swinging a "REDNECK HOCKEY" sign (or bills fans) but come the fuck on. Losers.

It should be pointed out (as I'm happy with one asshole) that I only passed on the note about the various Sabres posts, and didn't rush to judgment myself.
The dude responding to the Sabres post was pretty over the top obnoxious, but man -- the original Sabres fan article was a little nuts. You would've thought Rod Brind'Amour broke into the guy's house and slaughtered his family, rather than just beat his team in a playoff series.

Good for you. I am pulling for Carolina to win it all because that's where Recchi is, but Buffalo is the next team I'd like to see win it. If Recchi gets hurt or something the Sabres move RIGHT to that top spot.
Mark Recchi indeed did hold the cup.
What's next, retirement? He would be able to retire happy.
