ICEROGUE

Post by pinback »

Just to clean up and test out my codebase, I tried to fire up a brand new roguelike in under an hour. It took about an hour and a half because it wasn't as clean as it shoulda been, and dicking around with the new map generator took half the time, but here, ICE:

Looks like your average kickstarter project.

I don't know what that means, but:

CAVES O' ICE v0.0000002:

http://joltrogue.pinback.space/ice.html

- Redid the map generation so now the caves are totally sweet.

- Oh yeah, and now there are A HUNDRED LEVELS OF THEM. (Use the standard ">" and "<" keys to go up and down stairs. Notice how you remember everything you've seen on the other levels. Notice how there's nothing to do in there yet but explore, but exploring is TOTALLY SWEET.)

ICE 0.0000000000003

- The first level is now a "standard" rogue dungeon, but once you find the stairs, you may enter the... CAVES O' ICE.

- Pretty custom font!

- The levels are all different sizes.

The only problem is that any prizes for exploring or contact with NPCs is currently... ahem... frozen.

Pressing + or - will allow you to zoom in and out. The resizing it's 100% right, but it's still kinda cool.

I wish this were still online. This was one of the neater things you ever did, in my opinion.
