I still would put The Sugarhill Gang's Rapper's Delight up against any other rap singer's performance as almost certainly better. Here are a few reasons, after the obligatory YouTube inliner:

* You can understand what is being sung.
* The song tells three stories
* There is a point to each of the three stories.
* The song is easy to memorize, or at least the "food rap" is, I can sing all of that off the top of my head. "Well you ever went over a friend's house to eat and the food just ain't no good? I mean the macaroni's soggy, the peas are mush and the chicken tastes like wood."
* The song can be played on the radio, and is not threatening, corrosive, disrespectful to anyone, vicious or nasty.

Given the general rise in expenses and fall in the typical standard of living, the future ain't what it used to be.

The above YouTube link is to a "chopped version" that cuts off at least 3 minutes of the ending. More like 7, probably.
Here's a version you probably haven't heard:

Most everyone has heard or knows a cut version, even the one I bought as a 45 rpm single some 35 years ago was cut.
But here's the full version, which is 14:45 :
