On the liner notes to "The Young & The Hopeless" we are informed that one member of the band has, according to this self-safe member, physically engaged in personal combat with those people he has encountered in his life that have told him in an insulting way that he "wasn't punk."

Hmmm!

Well that's pretty hardcore. In a completely unrelated point, I would like to quote the start of the lyrics to their song "Wondering."
Good Charlotte wrote: If you want me to wait, I will wait for you.
If you tell me to stay, I will stay right through.
If you don't want to say anything at all
I'm happy wondering.
Hmmm! Vicious!

Additionally, there is an actual kettle drum used in this very song. When I think back to various punk bands, the first -- OK, seriously, I can't do this any longer, WHAT THE FUCK? These guys are as big a pack of pussies as fucking Nine Days! What the shit is going on here? This can't possibly be for real. This is just a modern day attempt at a Weird Al album or something, right? This has GOT to be a hoax.

At least it's no surprise why their old man ran out on them. Jesus, what a bunch of mewling fourth-graders.

Aye.

People, from now on let's reserve the term "punk" for bands that truly exemplify the ethic of this revered anti-establishment genre, like Blink 182.
No signatures is good signatures.

I don't know if that was in jest because it seems extremely hip to bash Blink 182 these days, but I've like several of their songs and think I'll buy an album one of these days. 'The Party Song' is great.

People care too much about their damn labels. Record labels probably tell these kids to act punk ... because it sells to kids. Just like people are told to act like sluts, gangsters, and what not. I don't care ... I like some of Blink 182's music. Musicians say bands they don't like use "simple cords" or something and kids who are too into cliches and label say they aren't really devoted to their cliche or label. If I don't like music I just don't listen I don't try to question their convictions to make it just that I think their music sounds like banshee sex. Good Charlotte has some songs I don't hate as do many pop songs not hold my contempt. Most even hold my like! I definitely do dislike the acts some of these people have to put on to attract fans. Marylin Manson acts wierd, some other guys act punk, and all that crap.
Good point Bobby!
