Ben's Famous Venison Burgers

Post by pinback »

MAKES FOUR HEFTY BURGERS
====================

1. Illegally purchase a 1.5/2-lb tube of ground venison.
2. Finely chop 1/4 pound of bacon.
3. Mix together with two egg yolks, 1 tbsp worcestershire, and 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (this part probably optional, just makes it easier to handle.)
4. Divide into 1/4s, make burger patties.
5. Season with S/P.
6. Grill 4-5 minutes per side, adding one slice of Muenster (or other) cheese during last 1-2 minutes.
7. Lightly grill/broil/toast some good quality burger buns.
8. Add onion, arugula, and whatever else you want. Christ, like I have to tell you how to top a burger?

The pictured roll was a "french bread hamburger bun" sold by the Publix bakery section. It was perfect! So I recommend that one. Except I already ate it.

For $3.25 they will deliver you some in a Mini Cooper. For $12.50 they'll leave the car.

No, that's only for a delivery using a Trabant. As it has been said, if you visited East Germany and traded someone a pair of brand new blue jeans (price about $30 US) for a Trabant, you got ripped off.

Have you ever tried buffalo meat for hamburgers?
And how does venison (alone, not jacked with bacon) taste compared to ground chuck?
Given the general rise in expenses and fall in the typical standard of living, the future ain't what it used to be.

The Cherokee Trading Post in Calumet specialized in buffalo burgers. It wasn't far from where I went to college and it wasn't bad. It's more of a novelty than anything because they are huge. I'd much rather have an onion burger.
