For this year, I will be wildly overconfident about the play
offs.
I play it SLY and CAGEY every year. Not this year! I am going to be an overconfident prick so that everyone can enjoy the wide chasm of playoff failure.
The Saints are going to kick the shit out of the Eagles next weekend. They have the better offense AND defense. I don;t see any way they lose??

So, the BIG SECRET of how the Seahawks got so good is simply that their defensive backs mug opposing wide receivers all game long. It's pretty funny to watch, and once you realize that you're seeing two teams play with two different rules, it takes a lot of the mystery out of the equation.
Now, I guess the thing is - you are allowed to hit WRs five yards from the line of scrimmage. What Seattle has mastered is still poking at receivers beyond five yards, but letting go by the time a ref's attention is headed that was due to a thrown ball. The game reminded me of the Giants/Bills Super Bowl where the Giants' DBs hit the Bills' receivers before the ball got there all game long as well.
But...
Russell Wilson is a fine quarterback. He doesn't have any skills throwing an accurate deep ball -- the Saints held them to 105 yards passing for Christ's sake -- but he does everything else well.
Doug Baldwin made one of the greatest "statement" catches I've ever seen. That was a Steelers/Rams Stallworth/Swann catch there.
Carroll is helpless, though. He'll cost them a game before it's all done.
The Saints pretty much had them figured out in the second half, it's just that football is four quarters long and not six.
We have to go back there yet again next year and I know the Saints will win. (For whatever that's worth, a regular season victory after being sent home twice in the playoffs from these clowns is hardly revenge.)
