If he was able to come up with ANYTHING NEW EVER, it would be different. But he just keeps posting virtually the same 50 lines every time, writing the saaaame dumb list of Jonsey's "infractions", writing the saaaame dumb (faulty) defense of his autism, writing the saaaame dumb "jokes" --

That "have sex reflexively" bit, he rolled (no pun) out in 1986, if I remember correctly, and he thought it was the funniest thing ever. It's almost 30 years later, and he STILL thinks it's clever (it wasn't, and never will be) and still can't think of anything else to write.

It's BORING. We've seen it enough. And requesting to "come up with new material" is even more futile than the rest of our requests, which he also cannot fulfill.

Since 1986? Really?

That is horrendously unfunny. But look. He's got five other things to work on.

Well, wait a sec. To some degree I think it is hilarious to ask one guy here to be polite and he shows, over and over again, that he is incapable of adhering to simple requests. I think there is a difference between HAVING lots of rules (every forum ever) and ENFORCING them (which as you can see, never happens here).
Oh. I didn't know he wasn't polite.

This is completely different. It's not like someone is talking about their love of donuts and he tosses something out like "I like donuts, but cinnamon rolls are good too." It's like when someone says "I like A, B, and C" and then he launches into some off the wall discussion about why you shouldn't include a comma after the B and which style manuals say it's okay and which ones don't. If you're talking about computers, he might respond with an excerpt of Charles Babbage's biography from Wikipedia. A discussion of current weather patterns is likely to elicit a response about a movie he watched once that took place in the desert (or worse, the climate in one of his own books or stories).

I think every one here wishes the guy would put some effort into contributing to conversations and making them better instead of worse. I also think that at this point, everyone here agrees that it is beyond his capacity to do so.

True. There is the natural progression of a conversation and then there's word scanning and offering up wholly unrelated tangents.

I would submit that if lethargic were out with friends and one of them started talking about Honey Boo Boo and then one guy started in on an uninterrupted four-minute tirade about bee colony disorder that it would be unwelcome and annoying.

Good thing for us we have the Expand-O-Rama thread where we can get our fill, much like an Old Country Buffet Of Madness.

I really want to listen to Guns and Roses' Coma right now. Very underrated song.

What? I'd love to be saved from a Honey Boo Boo discussion. That sounds great.

It's all right, Ice-Ice Baby. Mommy will kiss it and make it better. There, the Boo Boo is all gone, and if you don't watch any Yogi Bear cartoons you'll never see him again.

That will never happen.

I think it's better for everyone involved if he quietly leaves and never returns. He can still post on Caltrops. I'm just sick of providing him two outlets for his madness with zero appreciation.

I agree with this.

(I secretly don't agree with this, but I'm all about the greater good in 2014.)

I don't care. It's over. Oh yeah, he STILL HAS UNMITIGATED ACCESS TO THE OTHER SITE I RUN. Nobody else will give him one (1) place to post and I gave him 2 for four years.

He doesn't get the enormous favor I have been doing for him. He doesn't comprehend that.

So I am politely asking him to leave one of the places.

I'm supporting your decision here! Christ! I'm just being honest that when I see that he's posted on a thread, I get a secret thrill I don't get when I see any of your other names.

I'm on your side here.

A secret THRILL? To see someone disrupt conversation, post inane quotes and ignore all the stuff we asked him to work on?

Real thrilling, pal.

Loafergirl's sudden appearance I think made a very good point: there are a number of us that are emotionally invested, attached and interested in Jolt Country. This means that on a low or high level, we are emotionally infested in the people and discussions that go on in this forum.

Besides our best efforts, Tdarcos has developed a style that disrupts the forum to a degree where it becomes difficult to feel comfortable (derailing threads, telling the same self depreciating stories over and over, etc, etc. We know the drill) and pushes out any meaningful conversation that doesn't pertain to himself.

Writing this response is a perfect example of this as my time, energy and thought are being directed to talking and thinking about him: instead of dwelling on whatever behavior of the week he cooks up, I could be posting my sous vide adventures, talking about games that are aggravating me or respond to Flack's thoughtful response to a previous thread of mine.

And while seeing him post instills a secret thrill because he does cultivate responses, there is a sense of dread because I have to dedicate time and energy to wading through his mess. He essentially stands in the middle of the collective living space on a soap box, audibly shitting his pants and screaming at everyone who walks by. Eventually such behavior will become tired and aggravating to everyone who walks by, especially to the regulars who will likely question why they visit in the first place.
