Can't you let him post in only one base and just let him go apeshit in there? Blast any other posts but keep one that he can write in. Abandon all hope ye who post in the Commander's quarters or something. That way we can all lern Inglish an grammer and stuff, ya know, like?

He used to be pretty entertaining, until it became clear that he isn't capable of on topic discussion that isn't completely self centered.lethargic wrote:Spoiling it??? He's the only entertaining thing here.
Tdarcos has constantly derailed our most active threads (the Fat Ass Challenge thread a year or two ago coms to mind) and officially over blew the mock conflict by directing mildly retarded yet serious insults at Flack's family, killing anything funny or entertaining about his stint here.
All I want to do is be able to post without the possibility of him completely derailing the conversation even coming to mind (and I do not care how it is done, but asking him to self censor has failed numerous times).
Is that too much to ask for?

I say give him his own sub-forum and restrict him to it. I don't see it as a negative thing at all. That gives Tdarcos free reign, in that area, to post whatever he wants: programming advice, stories of previous sex romps, and even cooking videos. Those who wish to read them and/or interact with him can visit that area, and those who don't, don't. This seems to be a much more enjoyable solution for everyone, Tdarcos included.

I have mixed feelings about giving him a "kiddies table" where he can bash legos and eat play-doh all day:
It resolves our concerns with him derailing threads, but it also mocks him by saying "you are still welcome here, but we are excluding you completely from any real or relevant conversations now and in the future."
Would it not be more humane to simply ban him completely, giving him a clean break (emotionally, habitually, etc)?

I think he's earned it.RetroRomper wrote:It resolves our concerns with him derailing threads, but it also mocks him by saying "you are still welcome here, but we are excluding you completely from any real or relevant conversations now and in the future."

I'm going to sidestep the idea of the Kiddie table to mention that technically, it's rather infeasible. I'll assume there's a button in phpBB2 that lets you do this. Jolt Country allows anonymous posting and it's easy to create new accounts. You can get into tediously tracking IPs, but for master-level trolling You can have full reign of any AWS IP for free via bouncing a web proxy AMI up and down to change your IP every post.
On the other hand, Paul is far too proud for the lower-level techniques and not able to master the better ones so it could possibly work.

Full disclosure. I snuck in here a few times during the ban to look around by using a proxy server. Nothing really serious but the ban really wouldn't have kept me out if I had really wanted to avoid it.The Happiness Engine wrote:On the other hand, Paul is far too proud for the lower-level techniques and not able to master the better ones so it could possibly work.
And by the way, when I was asked not to post in the "Fat Ass Challenge," it was done as a polite request, and I did comply with that.
In some conversations here, I said nothing; I had nothing to say. I comment because I feel I have something to add to the conversation; I feel I'm being unfairly treated; or IMO the original comment is an unfair personal attack.
I've tried sticking to the 10-line limit. I've gone over a bit too much lately. Having to figure how to squeeze into 10 lines forces me to clarify my thoughts and potentially improves what I have to say. Like this message.

I know there's a million threads about all this, but I will say what I have to say and be serious for once in my life.Tdarcos wrote:Full disclosure. Please stick to 10 lines.
Please try to stay on topic.
We genuinely enjoy the cooking videos and Genesis Device.
That is all.

Let me add, we ALSO enjoy your participation, WHEN (and some of this may look familiar):
- You stick to 10 lines or less
- You do not post twice in a row
- You stay on topic
- You do not quote things or link music videos
- You do not try to be funny
I would say if you could stick to any four-- any THREE of these, things would just go so much better for you here.
Thusfar you've shown willingness and ability to do zero of these things, though. That's the problem we're all having. We're telling you exactly how to make sure you're a welcome guest, and you are thusfar unwilling or unable to do any of those things.
Can you commit in the new year to picking three of those five things and really trying to work on it?

Well, as long as Jonsey can refrain from calling me "(1) an abortion; (2) a liar; (3) aspergic; (4) a rapist; (5) impugned my manhood; (6) declared me incompetent in the performance of my profession that I have spent 34 years practicing; and subsequently call me (7) human garbage."pinback wrote:Can you commit in the new year to picking three of those five things and really trying to work on it?
I have a very long memory when people throw insults at me, then apparently completely forget when they trashed me. I still haven't forgotten how you (accidentally) raped one of my beloved postings on here, Benjamin Parrish.
Or again, am I wrong? Was he just off his medication or did he just forget his aPauling lack of manners. I'm allowed to be aPauled, the most he can do is get Robbed.
And if you don't like that pun, go do what the CRs on Caltrops keep telling me to do! (Hint: the polite way to say it is "engage reflexively in sexual intercourse").

I will never understand why staying on topic is so important on the internet. It's something that doesn't matter in the actual world, but for some reason on the internet it's rule #1.
That's not how conversations work. You start talking about something and something in that conversation brings up something else. It evolves and moves.
If you sit down at a restaurant with your friends and have a conversation nobody says OK, we can talk about X, but if anybody says something about anything else you have to leave the table.
It's weird and stupid. I'm pretty sure if you go through all those hall of fame threads down there you'd see a lot of them only exist because something happened in the thread that had nothing to do with the topic at hand.
And for this silly ass place where there is like 6 regular posters to have so many rules and take this meaningless crap so seriously is mind boggling to me.

Well, wait a sec. To some degree I think it is hilarious to ask one guy here to be polite and he shows, over and over again, that he is incapable of adhering to simple requests. I think there is a difference between HAVING lots of rules (every forum ever) and ENFORCING them (which as you can see, never happens here).lethargic wrote: And for this silly ass place where there is like 6 regular posters to have so many rules and take this meaningless crap so seriously is mind boggling to me.
