The 2013 Open Championship Thread

Post by pinback »

Major #3 "tees off" (that's a golf term) in less than 48 hours.

What are your feelings about this most historical event?

I can already tell that this is "best of" material just waiting to happen.

Hey come on. Read this thread:

http://www.joltcountry.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4081

A bunch of angry idiots try to play a game over the Internet and fail completely. I think it's pretty funny and when we realized that none of us would ever be able to accomplish anything here, ever.

Also, lethargic, I want you to know some things as you read that thread:

1) The guy Lysander is blind LOL!! and I kept forgetting that and put the results in images that his screen reader couldn't parse.

2) Jack Straw actually went on to kill his entire family and then himself.

3) Draal possibly killed himself, or at least threatened to do so in private messages on this BBS later.

George Zimmerman has a better chance at being elected president of the NAACP than you have a chance of getting me to read a 25 page thread from 7 years ago.

That was a fun game. I wish we could play it again. It brought the post count up tremendously and was better than watching Dexter.

I'd completely forgotten about that game. That was a lot of fun.

I'd also completely forgotten about Draal. Less fun.

Okay but in this version the townspeople are golf spectators and the werewolf is CBS Golf Analyst Jim Nantz.

Cant we all be famous golfers instead of just spectators?

(edit: We could all be stuck on the Golf Course that Dripped Blood)

Greg knows where it is at.

Unfortunately, we have even fewer people who have the stomach for our nonsense in this day than we did back then. Now, some of that really isn't our fault, but... well, actually, none of it is our fault.

We need a Werewolf-type game that can be played with six people.

I'm going to mark down Straw for at least three potential missing players.

Lethargic, do you reall-- have you dived into that story yet? I think as the one new guy I apparently don't have the power or skill to run off, you deserve to know what this place does to people.

By the way, the Open Championship tees off in just a matter of hours.

Very exciting.

Is there a thread for that? I'd read a 25 page thread about murder.

And then for comic relief you can read this:

http://www.joltcountry.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6741

...where Paul tries to give a dead man financial advice while we're all trying to get him to shut the fuck up because he just killed his whole family.

Counting Flack and myself, that would make seven players.

Can we play The Thing or Wereworlf with seven people?
