Three Shows I Refuse to Watch

I'm just about ready to move all those auction shows into this category, not because they're offensive, but because they're blatantly fake. Of course last month there was the news about Dave from Storage Wars suing the show after being asked to put his own items in the storage units to spice up the show. Also in the paperwork it says that none of the auctions filmed for the show are real auctions, and that almost every angle of the show is scripted. That being said, it's the most realistic of all those shows. Last night we watched Container Wars (some other channel's rip off of Storage Wars) and, my God, I couldn't believe how fake it was. At one point two guys were about to get in a fight and it looked like one of them was trying not to laugh. Just ridiculous. Then we watched Container Wars and it's the same way, with people shoving and talking trash at auctions. It's all stupid, man.

Dude, I've gone Netflix and Antenna (yay WXXI). We got cable on a promo for a while, but the crap that's on, the bombardment of commercials and crap... hardly seems worth it. One day perhaps networks will figure it out and go a la cart streaming.

Netflix + Greencine.com (for more obscure asian films) = win.

My only annoyance is that Netflix usually only has the first season of a series available for streaming, so my option becomes to either rent the DVD or pirate it and have it almost instantly.

That has been a dilemma we have faced many a time, though I've noticed that recently most series we've been watching they have new seasons on a LOT more expediently.
