Because it is VERY long, and unlike Boogie Nights, almost nothing actually happens in it, and then there's this weird ending where you have no idea what happened.

Also, it's about porn in the 70's. "2001" refers to the number of guys in the Ultimate Gangbang which comprises the last hour of the movie, and the "space" which gets "odysseyed" is the female lead's vaginal canal.
"Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water," was the teaser for Jaws, yours is, "Just when you thought Pinhead couldn't get to be a worse asshole, he sinks to even lower depths."

Consider it similar to Casino applied to the porn industry, a thinly done fiction which includes a lot of real events.
What do you mean "thinly done", friend? Perhaps I can help DEEPEN the Boogie Nights experience for you!
Uh, I already saw the guy's "dick" hanging out at the end of the movie. My brother wondered how they could get away with doing that in an R rated movie. I said, "Bill, clearly he has a dildo hanging out of his pants, not an actual penis."

A woman goes to see a psychiatrist and asks him what's a phallic symbol. He unzips his pants and pulls out his pecker. She then says, "Oh, it's like a dick only smaller."

Yeah, how was Casino "thin".

What do you consider thin?

No, I meant that Boogie Nights was a thinly disguised fictional look at the porn industry, a number of the items in the movie were based on real events. Dirk Diggler, the guy with the 29 foot-long schlong as we saw when it flapped out of his pants, out of the bedroom and out into the street stopping traffic, was clearly Harry Reems, the guy who did Deep Throat, among other people and happenings.

The difference was that Casino wasn't a "thinly disguised" fictional look at the gaming industry, almost everthing in Casino was based on real events with real people only the names were changed. DeNiro's character Sam Rothstein was actually Lefty Rosenthal, a long-time bookie who, after everything happened (including the fact that his car was wired with a bomb and that freakishly enough the year that Cadillac built the particular car he owned it had an extra steel plate under the driver's seat, that saved his life), ended up going back to bookmaking again.
Given the general rise in expenses and fall in the typical standard of living, the future ain't what it used to be.

There are lots of R-rated movies that show male frontal nudity.

I started working on my top 10 movie list. It quickly turned into a top 20 list and somehow it became a top 120 movie list... which is silly because there movies like... I mean, how do you say Jaws is better or worse than Pee-Wee's Big Adventure? It just kind of depends on the mood you're in. And then you'll find some movie in spot #85 and look at the top 20 and go, well shit, I'd watch this before I'd watch that... it's kind of silly at that point.

The point was, is a good drama better than a good comedy, or does it sometimes depend on your mood?

No, groundbreaking, incredible filmmaking is better than a good comedy. Or maybe you don't love Jaws as much as I do, in which case, okay, NOW I'll meet you, and we'll watch Jaws together, and every 20 seconds I will explain why the last 20 seconds were so awesome. And then when the Indianapolis scene comes up, I will whisper all the words out loud a half second before he says them.

Everyone will have fun except for you and Alex Kintner.

Look, any time you post a message with two or more identical links to the exact same item, clearly is a statement by you of "Do not go to this link, it's boring and worthless." So I shall take your advice and ignore it as the garbage you clearly indicate it is. You have something to say, just say it, don't be a fucktard asshole, or at least try not to be, hard as that may be for you.

Jonsey, Ben is far better at being a fucktard and/or asshole than you'll ever be. He's had lots more practice.

Try to strive to be better than him, ok?

Imgur is a good place to host screenshots, like the screenshot of you clicking on ALL those links.

I am rewatching Alien. I think I finally came around to it. It is a top 15 movie.

I'm the only person I know who thought EFNY sucked.

Actually I think pretty much all of his movies blow except for The Thing and Dark Star, and maaaaybe Starman.
