I'd quote from "Please Don't let me be misunderstood" by Santa Esmeralda but as I have been barred from posting song lyrics I won't do so.

I think what he's saying is that his show will be starting in 5 1/2 hours, it being 2:27am Monday on the West Coast. At least, that's what I think it means when he says his show will start Monday at 8am.
Given the general rise in expenses and fall in the typical standard of living, the future ain't what it used to be.
