Songs on my MP3 player (You think I can afford an iPod?)

Post by Tdarcos »

I own an MP3 player (you think I can afford an iPod?) because my old camera used to have a music/video player in it, and the camera got damaged when I got evicted back in '09.
Image The objects to the right and to the side are quarters.

I thought of buying an MP4 player (that's a video player in addition to the audio player) but they were a bit pricey (this means that I don't remember what they cost but I wasn't willing to pay whatever it was). The above MP3 player was under $21. (That means I don't remember the exact price and it was either $10, $15, or $20 at the dollar store.)

So while the device has 2GB, it's not removable. So that limits me to a "mere" roughly 500 songs based on an average of 4 mb per song. MP3 players look like removable hard drives, so you just copy the files over to them. The player I have recognizes .WAV and .MP3 files, but I am not going to use .WAV files which are uncompressed audio, a 4 minute song would run upwards of 25-50 meg vs. 4 on MP3. And I'm 51 years old and it's a cheap audio player I'm listening to through cheap headphones, I'm sure I can't hear the difference.

But these are my favorites. Dumped directly from the DIR listing of (removable) drive D: (For some reason this computer forgot it has a Blu-Ray drive). The one file ending in '160' is an indication it's the same song but compressed at 160Kbits/sec as opposed to 128K. Since it mostly stops around G or H, I was probably in a hurry when loading it and had to stop early. The name 'T.urner' in "Bachman-T.urner Overdrive" does not really have a period in it but this BBS treats that name as a swear word and changes it to "Filippe J. Suckmonger".
