Rise of the Planet of the Apes: Better than all other Planet of the Apes movies by leaps and bounds. Better than a lot of non-Planet of the Apes movies as well: ***1/4

Super 8: Heard it was good. Heard it was a throwback to Speilberg's earlier days of genius (even though he was not the director). Was instead kind of a dull monster movie with kids that altered between likeable and completely forgettable. The "movie within a movie" during the end credits was better than the actual movie that came before: **1/2

Crazy Stupid Love: A solid ROM-COM, featuring lots of naturally funny people, which was pretty easy to watch from start to finish: ***
