Soylent Green often shows up on these kinds of lists. I remember Wall-E reminded me of Soylent Green, Silent Running, and Logan's Run.

Knuckles the CLown wrote:I liked Moon but I saw it at the "Little Theatre" in Rochester which ruined the movie. They sell pumpkin seeds and fiber instead of popcorn. One theatre there plays "An Incovienent Truth" on auto loop.

Hahahaha, did you really catch Moon at the Little? Was it your idea-... it was your wife's idea? If it wasn't two in the morning over there, this would net you a phone call.

You used to like science fiction. We used to be brothers.

Can you tell the story of when you and I watched Run, Lola, Run that one time? I recall it made you fantastically angry, like you turned into a gorgon or something. Ha ha ha! I think everyone would appreciate the recap, especially Sarge, who contributed valuably to the BBS and you responded with rot-13.

Soylent Green is a far and away better picture than both Logan's Run (trippy disco future with a muddled storyline!) and Silent Running (Trumbull loves him some special effects!). It's the kind of SF film noir that didn't show back up until Blade Runner.

I don't remember the specifics. We watched Run, Lola, Run. You were confused or something because you thought it was a time-travel movie. I became enraged.

Something like that.

I still haven't seen Moon yet, but I finally saw Silent Running. It took 3 tries because I fell asleep the first two times. That's less of a statement toward the movie and more that I've just really been exhausted from all the travel and there wasn't a lot to keep me going during the movie. I did enjoy it though.

I watched "Source Code" last week. It was a decent sci-fi Groundhog Day ripoff, with a terrible tacked-on ending. Overall, pretty disappointing. And then I realized... it was the second film of Duncan Jones, who made Moon!

Well, how about that! He took a step backwards, I'm afraid.
