About an hour ago I went to copy a file over to my iPod when I got the error that the stupid thing is full. That's a 32 gig iPod touch.

So now I'm going through and deleting stuff I never listen to and noting what the hell I put on there.

First off there's music that I enjoy. Sadly, that's pretty much the minority.

Next up are albums for other people. I have kid albums for my kid, wifey albums for when we're in the car, metal albums to impress people with, dad albums for when we go on road trips, and so on.

There are albums that I don't listen to, but want to. And then there are albums that I don't listen to, but I should.

And then there's crap that I always say I'm going to listen to, but never do.

That was a really funny joke that deserved a quicker response.

Have you heard this joke?

Q: What has nine arms and sucks?
A: Def Leppard.

Back when we actually had to lug CDs (and cassette tapes before that) around in our cars, there was a certain amount of physical logistics to what you would carry. Like, back when I had one of those big plastic fake briefcases that held 30 cassettes, I didn't lug Weird Al's complete discography around with me at all times. Having an iPod with 32 gigs of storage lets you do stupid shit like that.

And while I appreciate the magic of mp3 tags, cleaning up a big collection of mp3s is still a pain in the ass. Seriously. And I end up fixing them on the device, which means after I inevitably remove the album and inevitable readd it a few months from now, the same files will still be screwed up and I'll end up fixing them again, and again, and again.
