50 Greatest Linebackers

Post by Knuckles the CLown »

worth a read, only lists the greatest from 1970 to present. I have no problem with that. If you arent 70 years old and didnt see the guy play you would have no idea. The only sport you can kinda of get a good feel for the type of player a guy was back in 1920 is baseball. There are distinct eras such as when things like adjustments to the ball, mound, or stadiums were made. Its a snap to compare a player to his peers as well.

Football not so much, game has changed drastically over the last 50 years, they didnt even record sacks till 1981. Anyhow a list my brother should love. Robb please start at 50 read each one and I think you will notice 4 players on there and commence didiling yourself.

See what happens when Dr. Z has a stroke, GOOD journalism is written.

Well, Bleacher Report is generally terrible, but I did like seeing Rickey Jackson ahead of Harry Carson, which is where he belongs. That Carson got in before #57 is one of the "top ten" tragedies of our time.

Good to see the Bears representing with Cox, Urlacher, and Samurai Mike (who stops 'em cold, part of the defense, big and bold ...)

The guy who put Jon Beason over Vaughan Johnson sickens me. Aside from the fact that VJ was a better player with more accolades, he played with no neck:

Smartest drunk driver ever Lance "http://pastapadre.com/forum/showthread.php?t=329" Briggs made the list as well. I found the above thread on a message board of fans just besides themselves over Briggs smart play avoiding jail time.

Calling to report it stolen is a pretty good move. I hate Lance Briggs, but I will give him credit for that. How on earth do you recover from that the second time you call the cops? "Oh, I found it. They must have been drinking, officers."
