Hahah, they aren't a "state actor" according to that joke of a professor. How much state revenue goes to fucking sports team? What a fucking joke. People will defend anything.

Not that I care if some Sox fan descended into that shithole and got thrown out though. They did him a favor.

So, the Blue Jays have won ten in a row.

If they lose tomorrow, I jinxed them. I wanted to write since it was four in a row, because that itself is amazing.

But Halladay is on the mound tomorrow, so this was really my only chance to reference the winning streak.

Um, yeah, they lost. Halladay had a bad game of all people. Well, maybe an unlucky one: he whiffed 8 guys and only walked one. Ah well, might as well just enjoy the season the rest of the way. This team is more or less coming back intact next year (Casey Janssen will replace A.J. Burnett, who will walk in free agency) so if they can keep this confidence, cool.

And it bears repeating that Cito Gaston, who won two championships in Toronto and lead this team to its current turnaround, is an amazing manager who should have got another shot in the big leagues.

the last group complained, quite tellingly They said, "Why don't you have a spoon that just says 'Earth?' It would save time

I sure could go for a banana right now.
When you need my help because I'm ruining everything, don't look at me.

In an attempt to give the season one last chance, manager Cito Gaston is going to pitch our #1 and #2 pitchers on short rest.

This quote from The Ack over at Drunk Jays Fans is the funniest thing I read all week. I don't think anyone is necessarily going to get it besides Bugs and my brother, but what can you do.
Can you imagine how Doc's eyes lit up when Cito told him he was going on 3 days rest? He probably immediately went to the locker room and punched Mencherson in the face out of sheer adrenaline.

Ah, what the hell, we've got fuck-all else to talk about here. "Mencherson" is the funny part, as there are two washed up outfielders on the team right now in Kevin Mench and Brad Wilkerson.

OK, this is probably all I've got on the Blue Jays this year:

http://www.joltcountry.com/index.php/fe ... -ricciardi

They start the 09 season against Detroit on April 6th, my birthday! I recently asked my father if he'd like to catch a game in Toronto (with Mom and my brother) and he reacted as if I had asked him to homebrew-up some Čerenkov radiation in the tub. Who knew? I look forward to hating sports after a lifetime of hating sports when I reach my sixties.

Shaun Marcum will be having Tommy John surgery shortly. He will miss the entire 2009 season. Luckily, I am in denial, so I won't have to deal with this for several months.

I am still in denial, and in fact I think, for the 2009 Season Thread, I will be updating it as if I am shocked that they haven't been giving Marcum as many innings as he should be getting.

I'll probably write a bunch of "FUCK J.P.! FREE MARCUM" type stuff, and maybe we can have a poll and sort of group-pick where he pretendingly is.

Pretendingly!

Well, if it has to be an AL East team in the WS and it's not Toronto, I'm glad it's the tuberculosis devil rays.

I guess Cito got signed to a two year deal.

Also, the Jays ended their AAA affiliation with Syracuse and will be moving the farm team to Las Vegas next year. That's an interesting decision. Are there a parent and farm team further from each other than Toronto and Las Vegas?
