Argh, didn't see the game, but it seems the bully let the rest of the team down today. Possibly the first loss you can really point to, when it comes to the insane number of injuries.

All right, two games taken against the Sox to narrow the lead in the division.

From battersbox.ca:
Blair says that Glaus will be back this weekend (maybe Friday), and the bone spurs developed because his shoes were too small. Let's hope the switch to the proper size has the same effect on Troy as it did on Kevin Mench.
Glaus was out because his frigging shoes were too small? Good grief.

Gregg Zaun out for 15 days. Zaun, Glaus, Ryan, League and Johnson. It's starting to get ridiculous.

Christ on a bike... Zaun broke his hand, 15-day DL (for now). Hopefully we're being bitten by the injury bug early on so that we may have time to fully recover and make a run towards the end of the season.

Whatever superior race came down from the heavens and abducted John MacDonald, replacing him with a newer, better version that can hit... I hope they don't plan on switching them back anytime soon.

The Jays are not as bad as getting swept by Baltimore would indicate and the Sox are not as good as sweeping the Yanquis would indicate. Balance was restored last night. Things are one again as they should be. Now the Jays need to play better than .500 ball for a little while.

AJ vs. The Tank-Assed, Slack-Jawed Witless Wonder tonight. Should be a good one. The Yanquis are trying to avoid going 7-13 for the first time since 1991. Ah, the early 90s. Those were good years.

Tired of hearing about Phil Hughes, it was great to see his debut go terribly. Keep promoting those guys from Double-A, Yanks.

A great page with those idiot fucking whiners asking when Torre is going to be fired.

A 6-0 win and half the goddamn team was out. The bottom of our lineup was Jason Smith, Jason Phillips and John McDonald for Christ's sake.

The Yanquis are in last place, and I really don't think there's much chance of them making a miraculous comeback this year. It does my heart good.

Six game losing streak and Clemens is signing with the Yankees. How the fuck are the Jays worse than last year? Jesus Christ.

Excellent performance by Zambrano tonight. See, he was good three years ago (sort of) so of course he'll be the answer, now.

It's frustrating because, Jesus Christ, the division is horrible and the younger pitchers ought to get their chance in the rotation.

Halladay - Burnett - Ohka - Marcum - McGowan

Until Chacin comes back. What's the problem? Take the best two out of Ohka-Marcum-McGowan and have them pitch. Towers is long relief. (I suspect Towers is actually an OK pitcher if you keep him to 3 innings.)

If Marcum and McGowan both suck -- and they would have to suck at the level of 8 earned runs in 2.2 innings, like Zambrano -- then give Janssen a shot (who is very valuable in the pen right now).

The season is NOT over. I don't know why it's being managed like it is.

BJ Ryan has Tommy John surgery... They're saying he'll be ready for spring training 2008.

Everything's coming up Milhouse!

Because, FUCK, I wanted to enjoy baseball this year.

Virtually every fan of a different team rubs me the wrong way, too. Actually, that applies for football and hockey as well, but especially for baseball because of the team salary thing. I really wanted the opportunity to enjoy some summer baseball. I just wanted the chance, the goddamn chance to do this.

Anyway, like you said, Bugs. At least MLB.tv is on a monthly basis. This sucks.

Yeah, Halladay doesn't have appendicitis or anything and won't be gone for six weeks!

In attempt to ward off bad spirits, I will be posting a FAKE Blue Jay injury every day from now until the end of the season. The team has already lost:

RP B.J. Ryan - UCL reconstruction (season)
LF Reed Johnson - herniated disc (8 weeks)
C Gregg Zaun - broken hand (6 weeks)
SP Roy Halladay - appendicitis (6 weeks)
RP Brandon League - shoulder (unknown)
3B Troy Glaus - bone spurs (2 weeks)
SP Gustavo Chacin - shoulder (2 weeks)
CF Vernon Wells - flu (3 games)

in reality. I will put the fake injuries in blue or something.

I, uh... Um. Oh my. 9 maybe 10 of the 40-man roster is on the DL.

What's Dave Stieb up to these days?
