When you need my help because I'm ruining everything, don't look at me.
Their first album, Winsonsin Death Trip, was awesome, fun, dark, really catchy and yet really different, and I still listen to it today. The next 2 that I heard, Machine, and 1 other one (I guess they have 4 more), were poor copies of it, with even more repetitive lyrics that just sounded goofy. ('Otsego' is not a word that has any dramatic punch, no matter how much or often you scream it, unlike 'Bled For Days', which rocks.) They just dumbed down the music, wrote crappier lyrics and did the KoRn thing where the singer will sing the lamest sentiment ever, but if he grunts it out like a Monday morning turd, teenagers will lick it up.

I also thought WDT was excellent, and was in fact the only Static-X album I'd heard until I bought the brand new one over the weekend.
Yeah, it's no WDT.
However, I request your help, Vitriola:
Listen to THIS SONG, which is track two on the new album, and then me OTHER BANDS or SONGS in which I might find the same sort of motif as is featured here in the chorus. That is, a sort of dance-y beat, over ultra-fast chunking.

Wow, just, wow.
That's pretty thrashy/hardcore for SX. I hesitate to give you recommendtions, because you hate metal. What I want you to know is, that while I might recommend these songs, I do not think you will like these bands, per se. But you may just like these songs. You are the type of music lover that can appreciate a good song freom a band you may hate, because it has a certain flair, or vibe, or just be a kickass song in general.
Slayer - Raining Blood. Just give it a chance.
The Crown - Out For Blood. Just a great song, again, give it a chance.
Pro-Pain - The Truth Hurts, State of Mind
I'm also going to throw a KMFDM song up in here, but I will send it to you personally, because these peeps up in the Colorado area that may research me don't necessarily need to see that the song that the Columbine losers had on their website is actually a kickass song, and I owned that album 2 years before they had their stupid, tragic, meltdown.
These songs are almost exactly like what this song is.
I almost want to recommend N-17, because they are chunky, fast, industrial-metal, but they don't sound like this song. They just had a gift back in the day of making really catchy hard songs that were not as offensive as most metal to some people.
Seriously, this song is so Slayer-like that it's hard for me, but I'm trying. Good Slayer is just good fucking music, but mediocre to bad Slayer is garbage. Don't let the name throw you. I will try and send you the mp3s if you remind me which email I may use to send you music. It's been so long since I got to spam someone with my music! But this song is very serious, and capable, Slayer worship. Hell, you may even get a rise off Slayer - Decade of Aggression - Double Live, like I have done for so many years, even though I don't own a single album beyond that. Because, Slayer kinda sucks, but when they were good, they were very, very good.

Music, as well as everything else, can be sent to ben@moltobenny.com.
Or douchebag@moltobenny.com, which will also get here.

Mail has been sent to douchebag, but I warn douchebag, that soulseek fucked me again, and douchebag may just be getting tonight's drunken playlist.
Hey, Greg, you still got your nice corner of SS set up? I have a couple songs I'd like you to try and get. First is Tangier's 'On The Line'. If you can get that, you can get anything (except pussy). Let me know how that goes!

I'll check around. Right now it seems to be down -- none of my searches are getting anything and the in-progress downloads have run aground -- but last night I found No For An Answer and Half-Off, which are probably at least as obscure. I'll let you know.
