I'd let out a "hey". However, if someone had a bunch of twenties out on a stairwell they were buying drugs, so I wouldn't be too broken up.

Is there blood and spilled bags of suspicious white powder on the steps next to the twenties? With footprints in the blood, leading to the lower exit? Flickering lights making ghoulish shadows where anyone or anything might be hiding...waiting.....'
