selling the PS2, finally

Post by Jack Straw »

Hey there!
I've had at least 3 game systems at all times, and usually split up the love between em. I'm in my second class in the college program i'm doing and am finding that just about all of my free time is spent on homework. I have no need for 3 systems.
I feel sorry for my PS2 the most. So much work, time and effort has gone into her and she hates to be neglected. I would like to place her in a home that will give her the attention she deserves. So, against my will I am putting her up for sale.

Here's the deal:
v7 PS2, purchased new in box
3 Sony controllers; 1 original black, 1 transparent blue and 1 transparent grey
2 controller extension cords; 1 Sony and 1 aftermarket
4 PS2 memory cards (8m Sony) and one PS1 memory card(1m aftermarket).
A pimp official Playstation zipper binder w/note paper, pen, holds 6 games + instruction manuals and 4 memory cards
Vertical stand (Sony)
Network Adaptor (w/ slot for hard drive, never got around to installing one. Supposedly you can copy games to the hard drive and play em from there now)
Component video cable
A handful of PS2 demo discs
13 PS2 games:
Wipeout Fusion
Everquest Online Adventures
Oni
State of Emergency
Gran Turismo 3
Gran Turismo 4
Lowrider
Twisted Metal Black Online (unopened)
Xenosaga Episode 1
GTA 3
GTA: Vice City
Onimusha 2
Twisted Metal Black.... oops. Looks like this is a double. Make that 12 original PS2 games. It's a network game so you can give one to your buddy and fuck him up.

I need $400 for this package. My half of rent.. now, the reason why this is worth every penny is because it comes with a Messiah 2 pro chip, the best one out there for PS2:

http://www.easybuy2000.com/store/playst ... iah2.shtml
http://console-news.dcemu.co.uk/messiah2.shtml

It's 29? wires.. draws the clock from the PS2 instead of having it onboard. You can boot up in PS2 mode or PS1 mode, I can show you how to do it, easy peasy. It was installed by a professional and all connections were tested with a multimeter. The system has worked flawlessly, without a hitch since it had been buttoned back up. For all these reasons I think it would be silly to remove the modchip before selling it. I will leave it in there, it has some real benefits. It can play US games of course, but also imports from any other region. Not only that, but it will also play backups of Playstation 1 as well as PS2 games off of any media. (CD-R, RW, DVD-R, +R, RW, dual layer, etc) The drive in the PS2 is excellent and it has read any type of media you throw at it. It is up to the buyer to use this in a legal and responsible manner.

If someone picks this up fairly quickly I'll throw in a stack of backups that are laying around too. They were going to go out with the next trash, but if someone wants to dispose of them for me, there are:

61 Playstation 1 backups (61 games, not 61 discs - most of the final fantasies are 4 discs)
89 PS2 backups

Most(all?) of the PS1 backups are on high quality Taio Yuden "Memorex" branded discs. Most of the PS2 backups are DVD+R's, also high quality media. All discs and the system have been taken immaculate care of. The discs are in pages of 8 ready to be placed in a 3 ring binder. The system has been in a well ventilated area its whole life.
There are COUNTLESS hours of gameplay to be had with this package.
Please give her the attention she craves and deserves.

I would really prefer to sell this locally, but if you want to pay for shipping + packaging, that can be arranged.

Did you sell both those x-boxes to someone else? Sorry, I've already got a PS2.
Good point Bobby!

With all those games that's a great deal but I barely have time to play the 2 games I have on my Xbox.

Not just the games that are already burned - but that modchip, installed, would be around $100 by itself. 20 some wires to the legs of IC's ain't for the faint of heart.. I know there's USB keys and maybe softmods nowadays, fliptops, etc. but this is the real deal, messiah 2 pro modchip.

I hear ya on not enough time to play the games.. that's why i'm selling it. Believe me, I don't want to.
