Listen to "Fall." That's my stepbrother on guitar and (bad) vocals. Unfortunately you can't really hear the cool shit I did there because the bass drum was pretty buried in the mix.

I clicked the link and the song in question began playing immediately.

Robb, has the internet passed you by?

IT is annoying, flashy FLASH! I have an mp3 of it, also. Actually I have three of them. If someone signed on instant messenger more often he could get them from me. Ahem.

Huh. That's...

That's some song.

Uhh.

Well, hey. More than I've done lately. Good job!

Here's the chord charts for anyone who wants to play along:

I had no part in writing the song or the lyrics or the shit vocals or my fucking bass drum getting turned to 0 so that three quarters of the cool shit I do in the song is completely unhearable goddamnit arrgh. That annoys me so much.

Seriously, what is wrong with the guy singing? Is half of his face gone? Does he have a hedgehog in his mouth? Is he from space?

What kind of singing is that?

I am possessed by this song now. It is maybe the worst thing I've ever heard...

...but I can't stop listening!

I can't get enough of the guy singing: "Anna lyeee anna droyo lye foya moyn... lye foya moyyyn!"

The backup vocalist scared me. She actually told him to "sing from your stomach!" Repeatedly. I felt like I was in the middle of some sort of mafia deal and if I told nick she was full of shit then the sound engineer mixer would shoot me with a gatling gun, or something.

What do I have to do to get a copy of this space warble? If I get on IM routinely there's no way I'm making the Spring Thing deadline. If I don't hear the song after Pinback's description of it I may not live past this evening. Someone please post it someplace PROPER.

(And for the record, it's this kind of shit which makes me hate Myspace, Livejournal, Blogs and whatever website you guys will flock to next. Hate hate hate. If you can't put a file up for FTP access you should be ashamed of yourself.)

Absolutely hilarious sidenote:

I was playing this in my room a few weeks ago when my dad stopped by, lstened for a few seconds, asked "who is this?" I replied that it was my brother, and it was the song I'd been leaving every night for hte past week to lay down my own, emphasised, *my own drum tracks* over. He paused, listened for a few seconds, said "Well, that guy's singing is really good!" And left.

This is the man who is in control of my finances, ladies and gentlemen. He decides whether I get a drum set or not.

I hope now that you understand my rant in the other bass just a little bit more.

This is the other best part:

"Anna BREAAATHE, yeah that's all...
Whenna darkspur come balls...
Nhat Ghanna,
Nhat Ghannoooo
Daphal."

God is that great. I am setting up my email system so that every time I receive an email, this entire song plays.

You know what it is?

He is able to sound like he is singing backwards. Like a normal person sung, and then the tape was played backwards? Except he can do it forwards. Every time he opens his mouth, I think there is some hidden Satanic message.

Is there a lyric sheet for this wonderful song?

Although if there was, I may be afraid to read it, for fear of despoiling the magic...

There is not a lyric sheet. However, I am sure I could translate for you, I listened to the damn thing so many times...

I just listened to both versions of the song I have that isn't the one on the website, and dammit they both sound better than the one that made it on there in my opinion. Also, the second song I did sounds *much* better. I... ah. Well, this is slightly embarrassing.

If I can't get an MP3 of this I'm going to gut somebody's throat like a trout. Not the singer's -- apparently that was done already -- but some innocent person.

Also, seeing how Lysander is still alive, I think that ends the debate on the "other senses over-compensating when you lose one" thing.
