I wasn't going to do anything.

(Alternatively, I was going to do a long rant about how there's a little Knuckles in ALL of us, so WE ARE KNUCKLES THE CLOWN.)

But you fucked it all up.

I'm posting here today because today is likely the last time for the next 20, 30 years or so that the Washington Nationals will be in first place.

It's been a great run, guys. But you suck.

Go back to Montreal, losers.

Ah, but the Yankees are now in first place. For every action, there's an equal but opposite reaction. Thank you Sir Isaac!

Yeah, except the Yankees are in the American League and the Nationals are in the National League, so their performance has little do do with each other. But I'm sure you knew that.

Has it ever been explained how liberal boy can be a Yankee fan? I mean if the Yankees aren't the poster boy for the evil right wing army then who the fuck is?

To quote congress, it's like Jews accepting Hitler in to their homes.
the last group complained, quite tellingly They said, "Why don't you have a spoon that just says 'Earth?' It would save time

Ya know, I can understand why a fan of another team would hate the Yankees....they've been the most successful baseball team in history, and have deep enough pockets so that they don't have to homegrow all of their players. But the fact of the matter is that I've been a Yankees fan all my life...it's not like I converted to being a fan in '96 when they started winning the World Series again. I see no reason to switch my allegiance simply because most of the rest of my life exists outside of the mainstream.

And I mean, at least chris lives in the same STATE at his favorite team. That counts for a lot.

A lot.

Yeah, Rochester and New York City are in the same state. If you live in Rochester though, New York City is basically on a different planet. If you are from the ROC, I could understand if you like the Pirates or Blue Jayes maybe even the Indians, but liking the Yankees is inexcusable.

The problem is- being a Yankee fan is a family thing. When I was growing up, me and Robb were free to choose whatever team we wanted to root for (My dad liked Willie Mays and the NY Giants and basically stopped following baseball when the Giants moved to San Fran), if you are a the product of a Yankee fan you do not have that choice and you are ruined at 5. Yes ruined, if you are brought up rationalizing why the Yankees are a great franchise other than having billions of dollars, it hurts your development.

Chris actually gives a rational explanation for being a fan of the team that brings the entire sport down to gay.
If schedule permits I will compile the reasons I hear the Yankees are great, besides the billions of dollars they have. It is known, I hope, that I enjoy the Mariners. It was fun as Knuckles to pretend I like the Indians, upon me even pretending I liked them and the Browns brought instant 9 losing streaks for both franchises.

I ride to softball Wednesday nights with a guy who thinks Derek Jeter is a better athlete than Michael Jordan, and I point out every week, that he isn't he in the same universe as a shortstop as the idiot who plays 3rd base for the Yankees, it gets tiresome but our rides together have produced enough material for a feature.

Neither of my parents was big into baseball when I was young. The reason I became a fan was being 8 years old, watching the '77 World Series, and seeing Reggie Jackson hit 3 home runs back-to-back. That and the Reggie candy bars they sold at 7-11.

Jeter is a damn fine ballplayer, but he certainly doesn't (yet) have the legendary status of Michael Jordan. However, if you want to compare their baseball careers.....
