VITRIOLA : Music recommendation

Post by milker »

Wow, I just found some new music I was completely unaware of.

Believe it or not, if I had this bands music on CD I would be selling it on Ebay ;)

Have you ever heard Assemblage 23 or Claire Voyant.

SOME GOOD STUFF THERE MAYNARD. Nice and dark, moody industrial dance stuff I love.

Try them both out and let me know if you have any suggestions similar to them.

I like to dance slowly with my arms at my side and my head cocked in a revolting position so that my adams apple pulsates with the beat.

How GOTH are you?

Stick this in your MP3 search,

Chainsaw (Josh Wink Mix) originally Skinny Puppy

Fricken song has played 20 times on the Sony PSP today.

I can not get enough of the pure evilness and overall spooky feel!

Go GOTH!

I also read last night in Rolling Stone that Trent Reznor has a new CD on the way.

Should be interesting.

Should be GOTH with black and chains, oh and spirals.

Assemblage 23 is the kind of dancey electro that usually plays in clubs, but what I hate about it and bands similar are the clean, faggy English accented vocals. If you like that shit, VNV Nation, Apoptygma Bezerk, and a whole slew of other bands that copied those 3 sound exactly like that. For slightly less gay vocals, Seabound, Funker Vogt, Birmingham 6 are good starts. For more gothy club, try the Cruxshadows, L'ame Immortale (French chick singer), Rosetta Stone, Fields of the Nephilim, and a bunch of others I will add as I go through my MP3s. I tend to like what is termed 'harsh electro' which is the same as everything else; you can dance to it, but the vocals are distorted, more raspy and angry. These include Hocico, Flesh Field, Controlled Fusion, Tactical Sekt, Aslan Faction, C-Drone Defect, Punto Omega, Suicide Commando, etc.
Then there's like a ton of old industrial/club bands like Psychopomps and Leætherstrip and Wumpscut and Numb and Razed in Black that you might like. A good source of music recommendations would come from looking up the clubs in Denver and looking at their weekly playlists. They tend to play a few similar songs together, so if you see they played a band you like, see what they played next to it.

I've heard the new Trent Reznor. It's all sound effect oriented and plays like another video game soundtrack. Not my thing, but what is?

Also, learn how to spell caress.

Also, I'm thinking of hitting Rock Island one of these coming Sundays, you should come meet up.

Great Stuff

Post by milker »

Well I went through your list last night and must say I enjoyed each and every suggestion.

I pump my adams apple in your general direction and surround you with my black cape of enlightment.

I dance slowly waving my body in motion with my arms moving very little.

You are the GOTH queen and I worship you and your cross medallion.

Thanks! Anymore suggestions with a good club beat with good evilness mixed in?

Ooooh... German industrial/metal band cover of a Depeche Mode song. I actually have the MP3 here on my PC at work.

Does that make me cool?

I would say having that song on your computer puts you in the top 2% of cool people in corporate america for sure!

I mean since Columbine, many CEO's and the likes have done away with evil music and just decided to be evil in other ways :)

So, Vit the Goth Queen,

Where does a young man like me find these said playlist of Denver Clubs?

I am going down your new list tonight. I plan to become lucifer himself by morning.

Yeah, I am curious to know the super power you seem to have of finding these club lists.

I can not find a darn thing. I even went to the Rock Island website.

I am going to cry and ruin my corpse paint.

I still need to get some of that stuff.

:(

I am sad, very sad :(

I get most opf this crap in the mail because I am on the Colorado goth mailing list, which posts the club nights. That playlist was just in my mailbox, but if you subscribe to it, just go the the individual DJ's website. They always post their setlists. It's a low traffic group.

I think most other info can be found on the mailing list calendar, once you read the DJ's names. I think most of them have livejournals or something.
