Jesus, Oates and Hall want a lot of money for tickets there. Who the hell do they think they are?

I love how every act who was around in the 80s now feels its appropriate to thrown down $80 for tickets for them. Granted, most of their audience that survived is now in their 40s, so they should be able to afford such things, but still. I can get five bands for like $15 going to see the music that Dayna likes. Knowing that those long-haired, face-painted Euro mumblers make less than a two-hour clowning session really makes my dollars feel important.

Which is nice. For the dollars, and all.

Maybe they figure that they have 'matured' from the 80's (or 70's coughEaglescough) type stuff. Or maybe it's like a 401K investment for them. I bet most bands don't get things like retirement plans from record companies. I wonder what the Rolling Stones' problem is. Fuckers must be pretty broke, right?

It may not be their decision to charge really high ticket prices. ClearChannel (the largest radio station owner in the US that also happens to own most venues and controls most concerts) truly fucks over artists on tour...it may have been ClearChannel who set the ticket prices. I've also heard that if an artist performs at a 50,000 seat venue, ClearChannel will often take 45,000+ seats for themselves, leaving only the profits of 5,000 seats for the artists.

When you're a couple of washed-up has-beens like H&O who are at the mercy of somebody like ClearChannel, you don't have much say in matters.

I think part of it is because it is Turning Stone Casino. Any show that I have ever seen listed there has been REALLY fucking expensive. Fucking casino. I wonder how much you would have to gamble to be comp'd for the show.

Hall and Oates were like the most successful act of the 1980s... if they weren't #1, which I think they were in terms of record sales, then they weren't far off it. They're the most successful duo of all time.

And best of all, their songs are GOOD. Professional musicians exclusively involved in the process from start to finish. Anyone who doesn't like them is simply a hayta TRYING TO TROLL ME.
