Run Lola Run

Post by Ice Cream Jonsey »

From the very beginning, Lola is running. This is good. Unlike the first Kill Bill, Run Lola Run at least delivers on its title, which is about three quarters of what I demand out of the films I see.

I am now, after the fact, reminded of Training Day for this movie, in so much as I thought that TD was one of the best movies I'd ever seen until the end -- RLR was great for the first twenty minutes. Absolutely fantastic.

And then it became a time travel movie or a "what if" thing. I would have loved to have seen them keep up the pace for 80 minutes, which I suppose is the shortest you can make a flick.

Very well made, very entertaining, definitely very good, but I was let down twenty minutes into it because I was so hyped at how well things were going. If I had known that the same story was going to be told three times perhaps I would not have been so disappointed.

Maybe if you weren't drunk off your ass, your sherry-soaked brain might have been able to actually figure out what was happening, and appreciate the movie a little more, you alcoholic motherfucker.

"What is this, a time-travel movie??" - ICJ.

Why did the dog bite her one time and not the other? Why did the dog have such a problem with poor Lola?

Again, it was good. 3 stars out of 4. It would have been 5 out of 4 if they had kept it up for the whole movie. (I got that same review the last time I frequented a drive-in brothel.)

Yeah, me neither. It's more of an obligation at this point.

I would like to think that this is not just "something that happens", that this is not simply "one of those things". This, please, cannot be that.
Again, it was good. 3 stars out of 4.
I gave it 3 stars originally, too. So I hold out hope that you, like I, will eventually see the error of your ways.

Drive-in brothel?

How's that work?

Like, the hooker comes out to your car, and there's a speaker next to the window that plays porno music (or at newer brothels, a low-power FM transmitter)?

Or did you mean a drive-thru brothel?

In which case, how's that work?

Yeah, like that.

You have to buy them popcorn.
