Requiem for a Dream... REVIEW

Post by Ice Cream Jonsey »

The disc was clean, unscratched, played well and did not cause any issues with my DVD player.

It was returned in a prompt manner and Netflix acknowledged it as such today.

A buddy at work spent the last 6 months trying to convince me to watch this movie. When the movie was over, I felt like slicing my neck with the DVD -- and jamming the remote down my throat -- and smashing my head through the TV -- and downing a large quantity of rubbing alcohol; all for no apparent reason... or something like that.

It did have one redeeming scene though, natch. I'm sure you know which one...

I would, except that I didn't actually see the movie.

I wanted to review it, though, and I can say with 100% certainty that the disc was clean and free from blemishes. The spelling on the envelope it came in was correct in all cases, as well. That's, well, that's what I based my review on.

Anyone who didn't think this movie was brilliant beyond any words they could come up with to explain it should probably just stick to comic books.

WHOOPS, sorry!

Brilliantly shot, maybe, but brilliantly portrayed? Nah. Too many cliches, to much overdramatization, a little plain ol' making shit up. But, mostly, a movie I rather liked, would probably never see again but glad I watched once. Jared Leto looked much too much like Tom Cruise for my taste, and I was never really all that much a fan of the Connelybrow.

Who were the girls that went "ass to ass"? Anyone famous?

And that's gotta suck when a single line in your movie becomes more famous than the movie itself. I had no idea what that line meant.

Vitriola does a wonderful impression of the old guy making the request, I should note. We have a mic setup, so I'll see if she can deliver that line in a stunning display of audio content.
