Helpful Jolt Country BBS Tips, With Q & A!

Q. Hi A!
A. How's it goin', Q?

Q. Oh, pretty good. Well, I suppose we better get on with Helpful Jolt Country BBS Tips, With Q & A!
A. Sounds good, Q. Let's go!

Q. Our question tonight comes from Kevin Ahn from Utica, NY. Kevin writes, "Hey guys, love your show. A, do you remember me from that remote you did down in Schenectity last month, I was the guy who brought my girlfriend down and you autographed her chest..."
A. Well, I don't remember Kevin, but I sure as heck remember his girlfriend! Well, parts of her, anyway.

Q. Easy there, A! "...anyway, my question is: What is totally a NOT funny, extremely THREAD-KILLING thing to do on a Jolt Country BBS thread?"
A. Good question there, Kevin.

Q. Yes, we get that one a lot. Anyway, take it, A!
A. Well, I guess I would have to say that probably the worst thing you can do in a case like that is to follow up a joke post in a thread by essentially making the exact same joke (except worse) in the very next post. That's likely to just destroy the thread, and basically make everybody hate you.

Q. There you have it, Kevin.
A. We'll see you all next time! OUT!

Seriously, the whole AYBBTU shtick is old. It wasn't horribly funny to people who originally played Zero Wing and the video was the majority of the humor. If stupid english in games amazes you so much buy a fucking Neo Geo.
Good point Bobby!

No! You are!

...Who the fuck played Zero Wing before that phenomenon came out? You? You, Berscramski? You're telling us you were a Zero Wing fan before Zero Wing blew up?

and the video was the majority of the humor.
Well, sure.

Hey. Let's not say things we can't take back about the Neo Geo. And let's clean up the profanity in this message base. Children come through here.

I have always unabashedly thought AYB was absolutely fucking hilarious, and used to headbang to it whenever I'd had a few at the local dive I frequented. There.

I got no cred.

I never even knew Zero Wing EXISTED until I heard about AYBABTU. I stiill have yet to play it. not that I'm longing to or anything, Just hasn't come my way.

There was a game for the C=64 called ' Hero of the Golden Talisman'. (BTW this should be in the retro base) and I never finished it. The 51/4 floppy was a copy and it corrupted itself after I was a quarter through the game. Not that I want to finish it, but I would have had it remained playable.

This whole thread was about cats, wasn't it?

Hey, nice of you to log in at some point today and not post "huh huh huh" to the thread, Beavis.

Also: needs more you thinking of children, JB.

Well, this thread was pretty much a disaster.

Is it enough to turn my love of cats into hate? No. Is it enough to turn my love of all of you into hate? Yes, actually.

...I was joking, actually. Y'see, I, being 17, would be what our collective America would consider a "child." Just thought I should point that out. For refference. 'n shit. Yeah.

OK.

I wasn't kidding about liking kitty-cats, however. I feel it important to note that.

This seems like a good place to put this.

Debaser's "monkey paw" line in the thread I just threw into the Best Of base has me giggling like I was a processor overclocked to run at 1,000 gigglehertz. That guy needs his own base.

For the record, let it be noted that Mr. R. B. Sherwin stated in IC-"uh-oh!"-Q (his new favorite hangout) the following:

JWQ: "The MAME ROM collection is too big to fit on a single DVD."
RBS: "I fucking hate the NeoGeo, and the only thing I hate more than the NeoGeo is the squidfucks who play it! Drop them roms from the retro-gaming equation and you'll find 4.7 gigs of quarter-hungry goodness! KICK THAT NEOGEO SHIT TO THE MFing CURB!!!"

I may be paraphrasing slightly.

You can save about HALF that space by losing Area 51 and Area 51/Maximum Force, which, let's face it, are pretty much a sucky version of Doom anyway.
