Music. Keyboard. YouTube. 2022.

Post by Ice Cream Jonsey »

I have started trying to play keyboard again after many years.

Today, there are tons of videos on YouTube showing a keyboard and the notes that are coming so you can play along. And YouTube lets you slow down videos to 25 percent speed.

Everything in 2022 is amazing. Sometimes I take it for granted, but man is the ability to be taught things in a golden age.

Several years ago my kid bought a Chevy truck from the 90s that needed a lot of work. He systematically replaced the side mirrors, removed the door panels, fixed the heater, and did a few other upgrades all by following tutorials on YouTube. For my 16th birthday, along with my first (10 year old) car, my dad included a Chilton's manual and JC Whitney's catalog for ordering parts. It is amazing that tutorials for everything are available on YouTube for free.

I'm a hack at playing the guitar and have always wanted to go back and relearn the basics. It's all there on YouTube... all that's missing is the free time.

Damn right. It helped me take the door to my truck apart and put back together and with many questions I've had about working with Unity.

I took guitar lessons in my teens and these days basically just pick up and play about once a month to make sure I can still do it.
