Three back, while not optimal, is not hopeless. He rarely blows away the field in round #1 (though in the previous major wins, he's had the lead or been within 1 shot by the end of the first round, if I remember correctly.)
However, he will need a good day tomorrow or Saturday to really pull it together. Judging by his play today, which was quite good except for the putts not falling, this is a serious possibility.
So, it's an uphill climb, but certainly three shots is nothing to get overly concerned about at this point.
Tomorrow is key, though.
COME ON BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tiger at -4, 2 shots back, tied for 8th, after a solid 68, which from what I saw would have been a 58 if the putter had been working. Combine this with yesterday, in which the putter was similarly unfriendly, and by all accounts Tiger should be about 25 shots ahead of everyone.
I'd wager he's just trying to keep it interesting for the fans.

Wait, are you rooting for him or for your part of the wager? This is really confusing. It's almost as if you want to lose, but by losing, you really win.
That's it, I'm flipping a coin:
HEADS OR TAILS, PARRISH!? HEADS OR TAILS? HEADS? HEADS? AAHAHHA! IT'S TAILS!! YOU LOSE!!!
Better luck next time.

Gee, that's surprising. Robb Sherwin, confused by someth--Ice Cream Jonsey wrote:Wait, are you rooting for him or for your part of the wager? This is really confusing.
Oh wait... Wrong thread.
This is exactly it. If Tiger loses, I will be extremely depressed for at least six months afterwards. (Except for when I chow down at R'sC at no cost to myself!) But I was planning on being depressed that long anyway. It's almost as if you want to lose, but by losing, you really win.
So, really, no matter what happens, a winner is myself.
