It reminds me of another song where a guy goes out walking in the rain to find his girlfriend who vanished, Elvis Presley's "Kentucky Rain."
In fact, it might be an interesting trivia question. Name three songs about a guy out walking in the rain because his girlfriend up and left him without telling him or giving a reason. Ronny Milsap, "Smoky Mountain Rain"; Elvis Presley, "Kentucky Rain"; Dion, "Runaway."
Were they all guys who beat their woman or is it something else?
