I wonder if Axl is off the smack, now that he's touring again.
He's off the drugs (except the normal stuff, like coke) and on the O2. When I saw G&R back in (I just looked it up) April of 1992, Axl was doing good to get every third word out. "Welcome to the jungle, we've got fun and games" came out like "Welcome ... jungle ... we've got ... games ...". This time, every song was spot on. All three guitarists, the bassist, and Dizzy (keyboards) had a solo/instrumental song, and each time you can bet Axl was behind the speaker stacks, sucking down pure oxygen. Each time he ran across the stage my friend and I were yelling "Axl! Slow down! You'll get winded!", but it seemed like he was in better shape now (at 49 years old) than he was back in '92.
According to my old ticket stub, back in 1992 tickets were $20. This time around, they were $75.
