So they could call it Star Stay In One Place?

I hate this tiny netbook keyboard

As luck would have it, this is actually what I'm a doing right now. However, I am on Season 2, and like all Star Trek shows except the original, Season 2 is a steaming pile of crap.

I'm told Season 3 is where Sisko gets a beard and the show gets good. This is what I'm told.

My objection is, the show is called STAR TREK, and they never GO ANYWHERE.

"And you people are... astronauts! On some kinda... star trek!" - Zephram Cochrane

"No." - cast of Deep Space 9.

Archer isn't funny. Or at least, not as funny as it should be, because he doesn't write it. You like it because it has the same goddamn problems that Always Sunny has, which is:

THESE SHOWS (and Robb J. Sherwin) THINK THAT TALKING FAST AND LOUD == COMEDY.

(PS IT DON'T)

My understanding is that, at some point, whoever did Deep Space Nine said, "f Star Trek, we're telling a multi-season story here." I would like to watch one a day for a year or whatever and get the whole thing down.

From what I have read, the story they told was really good, and I have heard it described as "the best of Star Trek." For whatever that's worth.

My list should probably go:

1. Breaking Bad
2. Misfits (and there is going to be a season three of Misfits, they could ruin everything)
3. The Wire
4. Always Sunny
5. Firefly
6. Trek
7. Archer

TV really has gotten better, in terms of my tastes and the shows I like to mount. ("Like, to a drive letter?") No.... No. I don't mean that at all.

"I don't mean that at all." -- Stroke Guy

Benjamin "Pinback" Parrish is a big fan of "H." Jon Benjamin, but won't watch "Archer." I'm bringing this up to humiliate him.

No Star Trek: Babylon 5 for you? How about about Star Trek: Firefly?

Star Trek: Manimal?

Surely you caught a few episodes of Star Trek: Judge Judy or Star Trek: Lakers vs. Timberwolves??

You haven't seen Star Trek.
Whoops. I have seen Star Trek. Right after ICJ mentioned that one, TDarcos started talking about his dick problems and I kind of wiped all that from my memory. I had to. A guy's gotta eat, eventually.

The Star Trek I've seen the most of is the original series, and I'd say I've seen maybe 25% of those episodes and probably couldn't write a recap of any of them. As far as the movies go, I've seen the one with Khan, the one where Spock dies, and the one with the whales on Earth. Again, I couldn't summarize the plots of any of them. Perhaps it's time to revisit this classic. I have every episode of the original saved "somewhere".

The only Trek's I've watched where the original and TNG. No Babylon 5 or any other spin-offs for me.

Will there be more pictures accompanying the other four entries?

Hey, Commander Tdarcos - do you download movies and TV for free off the Internet? Christ, if I had been through some of your misadventures, that's all I would ever do.

You asked me to define the magic. If this thread gets bumped over the weekend, I'll do exactly that. I am never going to remember otherwise, and honestly, if you don't like the show I sort of consider you subhuman and hardly worth my time to begin with.

by Ice Cream Jonsey » Wed Feb 16, 2011 8:31 pm

Actually, fuck you.

Go find the episode "Who Got Dee Pregnant?". It's from season six. It's pretty good. FUCK YOU.

by Ice Cream Jonsey » Wed Feb 16, 2011 8:27 pm

You're gonna have to tell me which one you saw.

Maybe I seen the wrong one(s), but on the couple of chances I attempted to sit through this, not only didn't I laugh, but I made whiny little "chhuh!" noises every few seconds when it hadn't ended yet.

DEFINE THE MAGIC.

Overacting and reading lines really fast is not the same as comedy. But like I said, maybe I saw the wrong one(s).

I just saw the first two episodes of "Misfits," which is a British TV show, and if the rest of them are as good as the first two episodes, it's in the goddamn conversation. Do you hear me you animals. In the conversation.

Describing the plot would not be helpful. Don't listen to any descriptions of the plot. Just go to the Pirate Bay, type "misfits season one" and get the fucking thing.

Tdarcos wrote:The Office -- I cannot watch this show; Steve Corelli's ridiculous performance in The Forty Year-Old Virgin has made me not like him.
How the....

Why?
In the absence of a disabling condition such as severe obesity (my problem) or some screwy (usually religious) idea one isn't supposed to have sex before marriage, the probability of a normal looking guy reaching 40 and never having had sex is so low as to be effectively zero.

Which made the whole premise of the movie ridiculous since he specifically said he wasn't remaining a virgin because of some sort of decision not to have sex until he got married, but because he wasn't interested.

Which is total uncorrupted bullshit. In the end the guy doesn't have sex until after he got married. If the guy had any interest he'd have gotten laid long before.

Hell, I might have been 35 by the time it happened to me, and only because I didn't even try, figuring incorrectly that no woman would find me interesting being as fat as I am. As soon as I bothered I found more than one woman who would.

But for a normal guy to claim he had no interest until he was 40 raises the question what changed that.

There's also another reason, the "use it or lose it" problem; if you never have sex for decades you can either lose the ability to have an erection or be unable to perform with a woman at all, which makes the claim he was able to perform for the first time at 40 another bogus claim.

Why do you think I asked the doctor for Viagra samples? I know how difficult it is.
