My main concern was that she would find this BBS, and then obviously, all hope would be lost.

Apparently, though, the coast is clear.

letting on that someone is hard and crunchy without, and soft and chewy on the inside is opening a pandora's box of insults and jibes. On this board especially. After typing it the first time I had old underwear jokes running thru my head. Il et the sentence stand, however, as an accurate...(oh, one of those literary things that compares you to something else. Like in The Iliad, where Homer compares everyone as swift as eagles or as the waters running over the cracked earth did the Trojan army swarm the battlefield. that thing)

Thing.

Good Christing Lord, how could anyone have gotten that assumption after reading this base for the last however long I've been polluting it?

I am the exact opposite of M. Slick. I have no slickness. I am like a Mach 3 razor with the ointment strip long worn away.
I see you are more Oreo. Hard and crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside.
This is fairly accurate, though I never thought myself particularly crunchy on the outside. Maybe it just looks that way because of my many defense mechanisms.
Make any references you want
I don't understand this. References?

Sorry, From the previous biography sketches I have read here I assumed you were more M. Slick Guy. I reshape my opinion now. I see you are more Oreo. Hard and crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Make any references you want, I think that's a good thing. Congratulations.

That's good. You all just keep it up. Buncha fucking morons, don't have the slightest idea what you're talking about.

Christ, if I'd have known that four years ago, I coulda saved a lot of time and wasted energy.

I'd elaborate, but I gotta start getting ready cuz my girl wants me back over there again tonight, because I'm such a fuck-up at romance.

Dorks.

It's all about lowered expectations.

by pinback » Sun Jun 04, 2006 11:11 am

Yes. She liked them a lot. I wouldn't say she "flipped", but perhaps I was expecting too much.

by Ice Cream Jonsey » Sun Jun 04, 2006 10:57 am

You're doing a great job, bud. I'm happy for you.

Did you give her the Galaga shirts?

by pinback » Sun Jun 04, 2006 10:46 am

So, here I am TELLING you that it's actually going very WELL, and that it's ON, and that we're growing closer by the day, and at the end of last night she just says "so what are we doing tomorrow?" like it was even a question...

...and NOW you're all telling me I'm screwing up?

Well, allow me to say this about that:

Ha, ha HA ha haaa.

by Lysander » Sun Jun 04, 2006 10:38 am

V's right, you're kind of being a pussy about this.

by pinback » Sun Jun 04, 2006 10:12 am

Yeah, good. Keep "ew"ing me. Cuz obviously this isn't going well at all.

by Vitriola » Sun Jun 04, 2006 8:09 am

You...asked her if you could hold her hand? You didn't just gallantly walk on the side of traffic and then just take her hand? Ew.

by pinback » Sun Jun 04, 2006 1:21 am

Shut up, Finsternis.

Anyway, god is this chick cool. She is going to make a man of me, whether I wanna or not. Here's today's advice:

We go to dinner tonight, and get there, and get out of the car, and we've got three blocks to walk, and yeah, after five fucking dates or whatever it's been, I work up the gumption to say, "can I hold your hand?"

She don't miss a beat. "You better, ass."

Man. Gotta love that.

It probably was good advice. But don't expect any credit from Ben. He plays this passive-agressive game of asking for advice in every possible way without actually saying it, and then when it comes along, acting as if you've insulted him. His reasoning about advice goes like this:

1) Smart people don't need advice.
2) That person gave me advice.
3) Therefore, that person thinks I'm stupid.

I want a grade at all. I've given you advice before, and for the record it's always, always been right. Even if you ignored me that doesn't mean I was wrong.

Life is a game.

by Draal » Tue May 23, 2006 12:32 am

Is this real?

I always assumed it was a game of some sort but...

I'm so sorry Pinback

by Roody_Yogurt » Mon May 22, 2006 5:15 pm

And I want an 'A' for saying nothing, goddammit.

ADVICE: "Just be yourself, and treat yourself with respect, and don't let these dumb bitches treat you like garbage" and lots of other stuff which is very smart.
GRADE: B. The advice itself is, naturally, all A++ stuff. However, my only complaint is that it is not tailored to its audience. Yes, it would be nice if I just naturally behaved the way you suggest, but I don't, and you have to take that into consideration.
This is just pure horseshit. I've spent HOURS on you trying to get you to see that you need a good woman. How did I not curtail that to you? I'm telling you you should not waste your time with using bitches, and just be yourself? First of all, you were like "I can't do that", even though that was exactly what you did in the end, and, like, you CAN'T have more respect for yourself? Really? Is that what you were saying? Because it is not only false, but ridiculous. I want my grade improved.
