As for Peter Gabriel my favorite
Is "In Your Eyes."
Absolutely beautiful song

.
Yeah that's
too nice of a song for me to get into lol. As far as his older stuff I'm more of a "Games Without Frontiers" guy. I really enjoyed his "Sledgehammer" and "Big Time" singles as a kid, but I can't enjoy those now as they just feel too silly. "Shock the Monkey" is a life-long favorite song of mine though.

Dance On A Volcano
Interesting. This is a reason I started this thread. I didn't even know they had albums that went back to the mid-70s! Much different vibe here, but I will check it out some more.

In the Air Tonight
These are pop songs that I still like anyway. I think these are all Genesis songs?
Land of Confusion
Invisible Touch
These Genesis songs will cause me to physically recoil and try to leave the area where it is being played.
I Can't Dance
Tonight, Tonight, Tonight
I Can't Dance, Benny and the Jets and Sympathy for the Devil may be the three worst songs in the history of music.
All good picks!
Yes, Invisible Touch and Land of Confusion are both Genesis. I also can't STAND "I can't dance" as well. "Tonight, tonight" is OK but not something I'd go out of my way to listen to and most likely will see if there is something better playing on another channel when it comes on over the radio. I mainly just like the keyboard stuff on that song.
I also completely agree with your last statement. I don't really like anything by Elton John but "Benny and the Jets" is probably one of the most annoying songs he ever wrote. I like a lot of Rolling Stones songs, but "Sympathy for the Devil" has some of the dumbest lyrics and one of the lamest guitar solos in a rock song ever made.
