There is a moment toward the end where you know it's going to take a turn, because the movie is running out of time, and needs to wrap up. If it had turned one way, this could have been a legendary movie. But it turned the other, stupider way, so you just have to watch that play out until the movie ends.

However, until that point, John Goodman holding Mary Elizabethtown Winsforth III or whatever her name is captive (or IS he?! or?!!?!) in a bunker, safe from chemical fallout (or IS there?!? ORT?TT!E?FEfejofi) is good, good watchin'.

I give the first hour and 20 minutes 3 1/2 stars, and the last twenty minutes two stars. I'm feeling generous, and the performances are great, so I'll give 10 Cloverfield Lane:

That was almost my review word for word. The thing I learned is that they bought the script and retrofit it into the Cloverfield universe. So if the ending felt tacked on and forced, that's because it was.

This is now two out of two (100%) movies with "Cloverfield" in the name that both J. J. Abrams was involved with, and in which the very, very, very last shot in the movie has a little hidden thing all the way to the right of the frame.

I guess it's less hidden in this one than in "Cloverfield", and it has less impact (SPOILER FOR THE ORIGINAL CLOVERFIELD: THAT WAS A PUN), but it's still kinda cool that that's an official "theme" of these things.

We can all agree that "10 Cloverfield Lane" is the dumbest name for a movie of all-time, right?

And that JJ Abrams is terrible? No? All right.

After hearing about the "secret thing" in the end of Cloverfield I watched the ending 10 times and still couldn't find it. (I finally did.)

The one at the end of 10 Cloverfield Lane was so "not" hidden that I didn't realize it was supposed to be hidden until people started calling it a hidden thing.

Well, okay, it's not hidden, but it's a similar kinda... you know... whoop, look over there! Wheee!

Whatever, stupid goddamn movies.

"Cloverfield" was the name of the military strike in the first movie. "10 Cloverfield Lane" is an address of a house, many miles away. It's ridiculous.

I can't even think of a dumb example. It would be like if the family from Poltergeist moved into a house on Poltergeist Lane in the second movie, or Norman Bates moved to a different hotel located on Psycho Street in Psycho 2.

Had to leave the theater when I tried to watch the original Cloverfield because my girlfriend had to go puke and I was on the verge myself.

Is there any of this motion-sickness inducing camera "work" in the new movie?

No.

If I am not mistaken the basic plot for this movie was ripped off from an episode of the Show Heavy Metal... interesting movie still.
