Not a Tool fan? Bruh, learn to swim!

Already got my tickets, 1/16.

I don't care for Tool. It's just noise to me. I say this not to kill conversation, or to make it seem like I am a know it all, but for Tool fans to make fun of me.

"Noise" sounds like what 85-year old doddering, hunched-over early-birds call any rock music whatsoever.

Are you that? Do you not like any rock music?

It is inconceivable to me that anyone who has liked any hard- and/or prog-rock band since, ohhHHhhhHHhhh, about 1967, could possibly dislike Tool.

This whole discussion has, if you'll pardon the expression which you will not, ROCKED MY WORLD.

Listen to this song 1,000 times in a row or until you have changed your mind, whichever comes first.

Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see Armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will.
I sure could use a vacation from this

Bullshit three ring circus sideshow of freaks

Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call L.A.
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time. Any fucking day.
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona Bay.

Fret for your figure and
Fret for your latte and
Fret for your lawsuit and
Fret for your hairpiece and
Fret for your Prozac and
Fret for your pilot and
Fret for your contract and
Fret for your car.

It's a bullshit three ring circus sideshow of freaks

Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call L.A.
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time. Any fucking day.
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona Bay.

Some say a comet will fall from the sky.
Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.
Followed by fault lines that cannot sit still.
Followed by millions of dumbfounded dip shits.

Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see Armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will cause
I sure could use a vacation from this

Stupid shit, silly shit, stupid shit...

One great big festering neon distraction,
I've a suggestion to keep you all occupied.

Learn to swim. [3x]

Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
Mom's comin' round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Learn to swim.

Fuck L Ron Hubbard and
Fuck all his clones.
Fuck all these gun-toting
Hip gangster wannabes.

Learn to swim.

Fuck retro anything.
Fuck your tattoos.
Fuck all you junkies and
Fuck your short memory.

Learn to swim.

Fuck smiley glad-hands
With hidden agendas.
Fuck these dysfunctional,
Insecure actresses.

Learn to swim.

Cause I'm praying for rain
And I'm praying for tidal waves
I wanna see the ground give way.
I wanna watch it all go down.
Mom, please flush it all away.
I wanna see it go right in and down.
I wanna watch it go right in.
Watch you flush it all away.

Time to bring it down again.
Don't just call me pessimist.
Try and read between the lines.

I can't imagine why you wouldn't
Welcome any change, my friend.

I wanna see it all come down.
Bring it down
Suck it down.
Flush it down.

While we're at it, let's not forget that Primus finally showed the world what a band of demons was supposed to sound like.

No, my musical tastes fall along the lines of pop punk, dubstep and anything kareoked.

(NOTE! I made this joke in an IM room for a project at work I am only tangentially on. It went over like a lead balloon.)

I already liked it, but I went ahead and listened to it 1,000 times in a row anyway.

I did. I had no opinion at all. I listened to it, once, for 1:38 at which point I could no longer stand it. Then I changed my mind, and I don't like it. That's a minute and a half of my life that I'll never get back.

Why did I not like it? The melody was not to my liking, it was flat out terrible. The words had no relationship to the melody. The words were spoken so low beneath the melody that unless you had the quote of the lyrics you wouldn't know what they were saying because you couldn't hear them.

It can be said about music as it can be said about computer programs. If you need the printed listing to use it, it's proven defective.

Well, let's see. It's a 6 minute video. It was posted on November 25. On November 26 you said you listened to it 1,000 times. That's over 6,000 minutes. There are 1440 minutes in a day. So you somehow got 6,000 minutes in a single day that only has 1,440 to listen to it.

If I've told you once I've told you a million times, don't exaggerate!

I've heard that song a lot actually. Ex-wife really liked Tool. Quite possibly another reason I don't?

I can see how people dig it, and I'm not saying it's "bad" at all, it just doesn't really jerk it for me. Can't get into it.

LOLOL that's generally how I come to dislike things too.

Also, I hate "pop punk". Don't want to leave anyone out here.

The only reason I explained exactly why I didn't like it was that at times I've said I didn't like something and I get asked why. My friend, you understand exactly. I could not get into the song because it was too glaring and not harmonius.

Check this out. I mean, the first time I heard this it blew me away. I was besotted beyond beliief by this song. Consider it, how it works and how it sounds. Ans that was before I even heard the words. 24 seconds of instrumentals and I was knocked out of my socks. That was 28 years ago, and while obviously it doesn't move me that much now, I still remember how I felt, a sense of sheer amazement, when I first heard it.

And I will remember that feeling for the rest of my life.

C'mon, you enjoyed Weezer's album "Pinkerton", right? RIGHT?

And I hear that Fleetwood Mac had a great pop punk song or two.

So you just decided to start posting as you with a different name.

Now you get a choice.

Paul, tell us ONE THING you're going to do differently going forward and I'll unban your regular account.

If you can't tell us HOW YOU WILL CHANGE then I'm banning this one too. Come on now.
